^ Fire bombs, Dragon's Dream I think they're called? The ones that explode on impact. Trivializes the fight, even on Death March.
Speaking of, there's a fight that just plain sucks, but only if you play on Death March. One-hit-kill nonsense, even with good armour and all sorts of potion buffs and the enemy's HP is inflated beyond reason. Was more difficult than Eredin until I finally caved and turned the difficulty down.
Anyway, I finished this today, even though I wanted to take my time and stretch it out. Pretty good, though obviously overshadowed by the main game content. The production values are on par, but the content can't hold a candle to the Bloody Baron questline. However there were some nice ideas in there, including something cribbed from Oblivion.
I fully upgraded the enchanter (30k all told, I think), but most of his runewords don't seem worth the investment, unless there's an OP interaction I'm missing (there probably is). I just put the runeword into my armour that casts Qwen when combat begins, since that's what I'm doing anyway, as well as one in my swords that makes them retain the grindstone buff indefinitely. Boring choices, but the other interactions are sign heavy and I barely use signs.
You can also get some nice gear, including a Viper set and matching swords (that are upgrades on the ones you find in White Orchard), though I'm a level below the requirement, of course... I went from 35 to 38 doing everything there was to do. The scaling is so agressive the 34 mobs it adds here or there gave shit XP halfway through. I don't want to New Game+ just to use the stuff I find. This aspect of the game sucks so much.
There's probably a mod that rips the level requirements out entirely, which is what I will probably use for the next expansion.
