Max Blumenthal (moderately well-known Middle East journo) is tweeting updates from police scanner:

https://twitter.com/MaxBlumenthal

"Given what I just heard, question is if sheriffs and fire are trying to burn Christopher #Dorner alive. Live ammo still going off."

His second sentence demonstrates why his first sentence is distinguished mentally-challenged.

And yet, the building is engulfed in flames!

Dorner set it.

Or a police flashbang or tear gas cansiter set off a fire accidentally.

I don't care how crazy the guy is, he's not going to burn himself alive.

Boogie, I love your forgiving Canadian heart thinking that ALL police officers outside of your country are good people.

There's no way they deliberately set a fire in the cabin.

They certainly didn't seemed shocked by it either...

According to police scanner, they seem to think he's in the basement. According to Blumenthal, cops on scanner said:

For all I know, "burners" could be the Sheriff Department's slang for a firefighter truck.

Y'know, just like the FDNY on 9/11 called to "pull the building" for WTC 7, which conspiracy theory types believed meant bring down the building, even though it meant nothing of the sort.

even if they did purposefully set the fire...I can't bring myself to feel all that outraged.  This man is a murderer and wasn't ever going to come quietly.  This was always going to end in his death.  He started fire...lethal force taken to subdue him doesn't piss me off.

There were quotes of getting "gas", and of "burners"

"gas" is easy enough to explain as tear gas, not gasoline, as tear gas is standard SWAT equipment.

it's weird that this is taking so much to verify.  Is that the cops not giving up info or disarray at the scene?

That's just your own unrealistic expectations talking.  It's a dynamic, confusing situation.  To expect clear, verified info so soon is silly, especially in the 24-hour news/twitterverse era when so much bullshit can spread so quickly.

A body burned beyond all recognition and they have to use a conveniently placed driver's license to declare it was him? Dorner must have escaped on horseback after all and this is just the body of someone else meant to throw the police off his track.
