Just started Borderlands 2 and man this guy is the best villain EVER. He comes on your radio every ten minutes to put the piss up your character and say all sorts of intense shit. he seems to be tirelessly irrepressible.

I liked how they would let you juuuuuuust get to the edge of feeling a bit of sympathy for him, then have him do something completely wretched and blow all that right out the door

The only DLC campaign I'm a little "meh" on is Sir Hammerlock's Big Game Hunt. Everything's kind of a bullet sponge, and it feels a little grindy. I don't feel the "hook" like I did with the other two. Probably be more fun playing with others.

The game sold ALL THE COPIES so it turns out that EVERYTHING WENT BETTER THAN EXPECTED! HAha, midgets, ironic ebonics, science, "unique art style."

Fun game, but yeah, very focus grouped. Randy is a master manipulator, so it's not too surprising. Memes turn into internet posts about finding memes in the game turns into publicity. And goddamn, the gaming sub-reddits were all Borderlands 2 posts for a few weeks after the game came out. I couldn't tell if that was also a viral marketing effort or if the game hit the money that hard.

I don't mean to sound negative, I like the game, but this kind of psychological stuff interests me and there's so much of it to point out in Borderlands. From loot to humor/writing to art style, it really wants you to get addicted and maybe worship it as "OMG LOL SO EPIC."

the writing is corny and some characters are annoying yeah, but its a huuuuuuge step up from the first game. Which had one of the most tepid, lifeless scripts I've seen in a game. Yet many lauded it as being "humorous"?

if it was GAF, I'd use my observation as an excuse to hate and not play the game (would prob look like a derrick01 post, if it was all negative and had some barb to imply that my taste is amazing and everyone else's sucks.) I enjoy the game a lot still and will give it a play through for sure. also, I go on reddit and am known to engage in that humor every once in a while.

That's cool, as long as you can tone it down from time to time and enjoy life. Or, if you'r already enjoying life, try to post during those times. The Bore is a good place with a friendly, supportive tone, and I think we're generally positive about our hobby.

I've got a NeoGAF account that has not been accessed in over a year. That place is a little hive of distorted perspectives, entitlement, and out-of-control self importance. I only ever went there to check threads on the games I helped make, and since I'm on sabbatical, I have no impetus to visit there.

I put 125 hours or so into the pc version. buying the 360 versions to play co op with my son. so fucking good.

still havent touched the dlc...will be icing on the cake.

Thanks for the co-op session, Scenester. I enjoyed myself more than it sounded like.

Graphics are nice, gunplay is satisfying, and writing is fun and unobtrusive.
