this is another fine gem from MYE

Quote
The motion sensors don't use the sensor bar for anything
If its the case of faulty hardware then the game and its use of motion/IR controls have nothing to do with it.
Galaxy sold 11.72 million and there isn't a single known widespread issue regarding faulty tech or unresponsive controls.
GAF would know and be all over it the same way some PS4 sticks seem to be disintegrating on peoples hands.
Thats why its easier to assume that the error is on their part or on their particular faulty controllers/Wii or whatever. The game works fine.

I am sure he knocked on every house in the world to reassure no one was having problem with the crappy IR. He must be paid off by nintendo or something.

I just don't really like nu-atheists. Believing religion / religious belief is the cause of a cavalcade of societal ills is reductionist and (imo) anti-scientific. Though shockingly this lot tends to disregard the social sciences.

e: There's also the tangential issues like the prevalence of misogyny, endorsement of discrimination (I'm reminded of Dawkins saying on Twitter that a British Muslim journalist shouldn't be allowed to be a journalist because he was a theist) and unsavory things like colonialism apologia.

r/atheism and the like are to me the epitome of "you're not wrong, you're just an asshole", even if I share the core lack of belief.

To me it's much more interesting and important to discuss the ideas than to worry about labelling them is all.
You come to this realization after we've wasted time finding out that you're not talking about the same thing? Fixed terms and shared definitions are pretty damned useful if it comes to debates, or simple discussions. Kind of essential, even.

Back at one of the colleges I fucked up at, my roomate was a self defined atheist. I say defined, because it's almost as being atheist defined his entire being/personality. He wanted you to know he was one, that he didn't believe in god and neither should you. For he would try and convince you.

We went to a Catholic college and so we had religion classes. He was so adamant in these classes to prove how right he was, how there was no god. He wanted to prove that everyone who believed in GoD was stupid.

Is there a god? Who knows. I lol @ athiests who are 100% convinced there isn't a god, despite having no evidence to back that claim up.

I'm agnostic. Don't give a shit.

His mother worked at the college, so he got a deal. That's why he was there. That and so he could prove everyone how wrong they were.

It's interesting that gaffots refuse to accept the possibility that the plane disappeared out of nowhere, yet they're so militantly confident that the universe appeared from nothing
:hitler

It's weird how the Bore is seemingly so anti-athiest.

I wouldn't say that. Its just that making fun of fundamentalist godbotherers is played out and making fun of r/atheism neogaf type cornballs is much more satisfying.

Speak for yourself, I can never get tired of making fun of the holy rollers... :P

I'm agnostic myself, but I'm not at all a fan of organized religion. Causes much more harm than good IMO.

superfanboy MYE at it again. Gets upset every time someone criticize skyward swords controls.  I hate that guy.

He's extremely sensitive to any criticism of Ninendo. It's pathetic. He's one of the worst Nintendo fanboys on the site, which is saying a lot.

I'd say the former. Pretentious athiests aren't the ones assassinating abortion doctors, protesting gay marriage at military funerals, trying to get their homophobic/anti-abortion/creationist dogma taught in public schools and followed by state governments...

So you consider being pretentious equal in your mind to all of the above?

It's not the pretentiousness aspect or the atheist aspect, it's the "defining part of personality" aspect.

The only thing worse than a militant atheist or a religious zealot is people who are arguing definitions and you can tell it's a thinly veiled way of defending their own beliefs, but they totally don't care cause it's totally whatever.
It's not whatever, it's (at least in my case) totally been there done that, fuck me if I'm retreading that ground again, it never leads anywhere anyway, so whatever.

That part was supposed to sarcasm, where the fact that sarcasm doesn't translate well online rears it's ugly head again.

My point is, everybody who discusses it seems to care a little more than they act like and it always comes off as defending themselves. When you really don't have to.
Yeeesmypoststillapllies.

To clarify, I didn't mean to parrot whatever tone you implied with the "whatever" thing.

Yeah, but come on, if Skyward Sword were an off-brand game people would be referring to it as a better Zelda than Nintendo's recent Zelda games etc.  *Especially* if not being a Zelda game meant it was on non-Nintendo consoles.  One of the main reasons why Skyward Sword is disappointing is because it's being held to the once-high standard of the series.  If someone came out with that shit out of nowhere?  Fff, people would be falling all over themselves gushing over it.
I dunno, an action-adventure game with as much dialog as Skyward Sword with no voice-acting would get slaughtered critically. I actually think it was to the game's benefit that it had the Zelda name on it. I can't see any other reason why so many people were lapping up the awful, grind-centric aspects added to the game that were hailed as "breaking the series' mold".

wander busy malls, casually interact with law enforcement, eat at denny's, and  talk to strangers. typical cactivities, really, you just get a new appreciation for them.
