Yeah, Dragona was an artist with those tags.  I helped on a lot of them, too.  They're getting reverted because they're a symbol of a more chaotic time at GAF, when shit was fun and EL was hands-off.  EL doesn't like being reminded of those days.

I'm pretty sure all of my tags can be credited to Bish.

I've replayed every mgs game multiple times. I've played mgs4 only once. I've probably played worse games than mgs4. But it is definitely my gaming low point. If you're actually playing the MGS games and following the story, do not skip MGS4; and play them in order of release. Do, however, skip all the portable games. I don't know how integral Peace Walker will be to understanding MGS5, but you ought to just watch the cutscenes from that one.

MGS 4 has ownage gameplay but dreadful dialogue and story. The worst story of the series. The second didn't age well. The story might be of interest for its meta complexities but Big Shell is shit and the gameplay was refined in MGS3.

the AC!D games are great, sure, and so was Ghost Babel on GBC. But if you're just getting ready for MGS5, it's probably not necessary to dig into the spinoffs.

MGS4 is a horrible nostalgia tour. I don't want to go back to Shadow Moses. Why would anyone find that appealing? You even have a sniper fight at the snowfield where you fought Sniper Wolf.

MGS4 has always been overhyped on GAF.  It was _the_ YEAR OF THE PS3 game that was supposed to make 360 sales grind to a screeching halt.

AC!D 1/2 are awesome and it's a great shame we didn't get a third. It took the stealth game of MGS and turned it on it's head by making actions cards. Kinda like PSO Episode 3 but done supremely better.

But it got kinda broke when you got the next turn cards and built an infinite turn deck in both of the AC!D's to where enemies never reacted to you.

As for MGS4: If it was the first two acts it wouldn't have been bad gameplay wise. But it wasn't, so it went to shit. And don't even get me started on the story that retroactively ruins MGS3's cast because Kojima had to just tie them in instead of letting them ride off into the sunset to where Big  Boss was the only link of MGS3.

You need a PS3 for Bayonetta anyway so you might as well jump in with a big splash.

Metal Gear games are really short. MG1 can be beaten in one sitting. MG2: Solid Snake takes a bit more effort but is it still short. MGS1 is like 12-15 hours. Replays send that number to 4-5 and that's with skipping cutscenes. The same is true for MGS2. MGS3 is on the long side. It took me a full 30 hours to beat when it first came out but that was due to my play style, as I am a perfectionist when it comes to Metal Gear.

Of course, these numbers are first run numbers and don't include replays, speed runs, pure stealth no alert runs, no kill runs, or extreme mode runs (extremely challenging). It's totally worth it though even if you just gun through each game in order playing them only once, particularly if you have not played MG2 or MGS1.
