He's probably extremely insecure and wants to be the "bigger" man in this hypothetical confrontation.  I'm a pretty big gun nut and I'll defend a lot of these shooting situations.  But the particular circumstances surrounding the Treyvon Martin incident did not warrant lethal use of a firearm.  He should have stayed in his fucking truck and if you really feel like you have to pull a gun out on an unarmed kid then you're probably just a vag.  Seriously.

I missed that. But yes they get stuck on either a small detail or something they made up in their head. And there is no nuance or gray to anything either. Then the conversation goes off the rails because you're stuck trying to figure out how the fuck they read your statement and got something entirely separate from that subject. They're convinced everyone is a hypocrite and try to hone in on it. So you get witch hunts instead of discussions.

I have been beating this horse for months now. Outrage is great when you're dealing with actual racists, sexists, homophobes, etc, but when it starts filtering down into every single innocuous comment and transforms into this suffocating outrage culture, that's when things get tiring as hell.
