yup. plenty of games (including dark souls) have had gfwl patched out a long time ago and work just fine.

Dark Souls and the Arkham games are getting patched. Dunno about any others. Fallout 3 is safe, because the Script Extender (required for some mod) already takes it out back and shoots it in the head. I'm sure the GAF thread has a list by now, but I'm too lazy to find it.

You sure about Dark Souls or are you mistaking it for Bioshock 2 (they are apparently adding the multiplayer component to the PC version plus preparing Minerva's Den to be sold on the Steam Store)

Game is a clunky, ugly, exercise in trial and error piece of shit. I have no problem with difficulty, I loved Ninja Gaiden, Shinobi and DMC 1&3... But Dark Souls is just boring. If I'm going to play something hard as fuck, I have to be able to enjoy the base gameplay. It has to be fluid, responsive, and fun. Dark Souls is none of these.

And by God it's fucking ugly.

But gaf made me believe it was the best thing ever and won in every category. best music, graphics, platforming, puzzle-solving, dating sim, farming, rpg, dicks, skeletons.

Eh it's basically just slapping the OS X UI onto Gnome 3 so I can see why people like it but personally I'll stick with Gnome Shell.

I didn't complain about Elementary's visual style (although I don't really care for it, it's nice the icons are consistent but they're kinda ugly IMO.) I complained that it rips off various UI and UX elements from OS X, which has a UI I don't really care for.

On top of that, the best features of Elementary are unmodified Gnome 3 features.

On the other hand, the animations for the 3.10 lock screen are fricking ace. Just more absurd levels of polish that I love Gnome Shell for.
