Deathadder Black Edition coating was too slippery for me so I switched to Roccat and it is serving me well so far.

Mine's regular. Not the black edition. Suits me fine outside of it being a bit smaller than my X-BOX HUEG hands are. :'(

I don't really use the macro keys. They're a big NONO in some of the games I play. I mostly like the mechanical kb response. The mouse gets most of the action. It's got 12 buttons on the side, and a modifier button where you rest your ring finger. I mostly use the top 6 buttons + modifier.

MMOs.

Namely, Guild Wars 2. 10 actions on skillbar + F key abilities + Weapon Switch + Dodge. Game requires twitch response and attention to movement. Mouse takes the game from another PC Game to the action territory of console gaming.

I think it's just MMO players that "need" that many buttons. I find it awkward to use nuber keys beyond 5 and the F-keys in general, just because you have to take your fingers off WASD (and I'd have to look, because even after all these years I can't find them reliably

). With a 10+ skill bar I'd probably find them useful, too.

Not just MMO's. FPS can use the extra buttons for keeping your hands on the movement/prone keys. Switch to pistol with mouse-wheel, get your kit-item out and deploy it with mouse-4, kit-item 2 ready with mouse-5 instead of pressing 3-4 while sprinting forward.

Less actions taken on the keyboard while you're doing something else with the other hand with one finger.

Macro-keys on keyboards are generally bad outside of MMO's.

Ah, in those cases those are mostly for MMO's or RTS, yeah. I could probably see Photoshop menu-click macros being used as well but why would you be using a mouse for Photoshop in general? $:-\$

the fully adjustable mice are actually the RAT 8 and 9. The RAT 3 doesn't have any physical adjustments, but I find it very comfortable the way it is. I can rest my hand on it and use it with no "clawing" at all, but I also have hands that are slightly larger than average.

During the PS2 era. The PS2 had such iron fisted dominance that nobody really questioned the bent because the PS2 was running shit. Then the PS3 had a shitty launch and then you could see all of the sfags who couldn't handle it.
