"Luddites who can't work a browser or do IT stuff" compared to the inability to cook, this thread keeps on giving.

I can't believe you people were discussing what's the proper term for midgets.  Who gives a fuck?  It's not like they're people anyways.  They're just sexual toys to be objectified, used and thrown aside.

Hm. Asinine though they may be, I kinda agree with Zoc. How do you go that long without knowing either these days? If you can follow instructions you can cook. Depending on the person I would at the very least assume extreme laziness.

It is laziness.  They're posting this on GAF, a message board about video games.  If you're on GAF, you probably have enough time to cook a meal.

I wasted a small fortune constantly eating out.  I could afford it but I did a quick Excel analysis and found that I was spending about $4,000 a year more than I needed to by eating out as opposed to spending a few minutes making something for myself.

Some of those bans are pretty obvious, but others seem to have been banned for the offense of posting screenshots in a thread about graphics on a forum about video games.

The OP of that thread is better:
Quote
My friend paid £450 for root canal. Why are people paying £400+ for someone to do 1-2 hours work that will probably fail anyway? What about dental implants? £1800+ each. Why? What is it about dental implants that cost so much? Why can't we pay for dental work by the hour? I want to buy an actual implant my self and pay a dentist to put it in just like i would if i had a car that needed a new part. I am happy to pay the dentist £20 an hour. Why can i not pay the dentist £20 an hour?

I take award shows as seriously as I do the WWE. I don't get why people actually meltdown over the results. Just enjoy the performances and shut the fuck up. And the stans, I hate Beyonce and Katy Perry stans at least Gaga stans were mildly amusing.

As a sidenote the amount of butthurt on the Coli over Mackle sorry Cacklemore winning in the rap category. Guys saying the 'Cacs' have "stolen" rap music where these negros been for the last 30 years? The white man has been running rap as soon as it went mainstream.  :win

I never listened to a Macklemore song.  I saw a picture of him looking smug wearing a flannel shirt and realized that there was nothing to be lost by ignoring him and moving on.

He mentioned wanting to incorporate the post snippets and quotes people added with their lists, tracks/alternate tracks that were posted in the thread, and some other stuff that would have made one large post impossible--honorable mentions, etc. Also wanted to facilitate conversation and give attention to each segment of albums, whereas one large list basically becomes the "I can't believe Yeezus was number one" show. Breathing space kinda breaks that up and gives the smaller albums a shot for attention they never had with so many people listing Yeezus, Modern Vampires, etc.

Either way, dude could've been given a chance to explain his approach.

Most indie games are forgettable experiences that you won't really recommend others to play.

When I think of great games, I think of experiences such as Deux Ex + Human Revolution, Uncharted 2, The Last Of Us, Jedi Knight II/Jedi Academy, Metal Gear Solid 1/2/3, God Of War 1/2/3, Halo Reach, Assassin's Creed II, Grand Theft Auto V, Dark Souls, Borderlands 2 etc. These are experiences you will remember for a long, long time. This isn't about budgets. It's about quality.

Indie games lack any real depth and quality. They are mostly shallow experiences, and as Pachter rightly put it - you can compare them with snacks. There is no indie game that I am 'dying' to play (except Journey), and I don't think I ever will be. On the other hand, I am REALLY looking forward to games like MGSV, The Order, Destiny and Naughty Dog's new projects.

But what if the best $15 game that comes out in a year happens to be better than the best $60 game? What use is there is arbitrarily dividing games up by their price or by their budget?
The day that happens is the day hipsters have officially taken over. Indie games are side games. There's good ones but that's because they steal from your nostalgic memories. Delicious retro graphics and things we've already played.

I already said why. For the most part indie games don't have the scope or vision like other games in different budget tiers which limits them. They do too little. 16 bit style platformer in the vein of an old ass Mario game doesn't do much for me when something like Mario Galaxy exists

Spelunky has in one finger more longevity, replay value, and requires more skill than your average Hollywood game that I have no clue how to comprehend that post. Throw in Meat Boy, FTL, et al and it isn't even close. Now, I'm a big defender of Hollywood games. They serve their place. There is nothing wrong with wanting the feels. I fuck with TWD and the Uncha (at least part 2) and GTA is my all time most played franchise aside from Final Fantasy. But let's get real.

What is this about Sony taking Indies off their initiative? That legitimately a huge bulletpoint for me. I play more DD indie games on avg than retail. I hope this isnt true or else I might as well stick with PC unless I want Japanese games.

Guys, they're right. Avatar was by far the best movie the year it came out, too bad it got snubbed by the hipster Academy in favor of some forgettable low-budget whatever movie that people certainly won't be watching and talking about 50 years from now, unlike Avatar.

Uncharted 2 was sort of a perfect storm game, at least to me. Tight plot, engaging dialogue and voice acting, and fun diverse action sequences that didn't fall into the "here's another arena shootout" trap of the first game. Of course, all that went straight into the shitter with the third game. When I heard that the same guy who directed 3 was gonna direct 4 I was all  :-\

but, you know, I dumped over 100 hours into Terraria, too. There's room for everything when you spend your precious free time playing games  and not just squawking defensively about them in endless cycles on message boards. I look at some posters and I think "There aren't enough hours in a day for you to be making the volume of posts you make and still have time to play games. You're defending/attacking lists of games you haven't - and will never - actually play."
