To dismiss the way both 3rd party publishers and the majority of journalists have treated Nintendo and their products over the past 15 years and chalk it all up to "just business" or "where consumer interest lies" is extremely narrow minded and ignores a lot of evidence to the contrary. Why do you think there are so many fan-made Nintendo sites out there? Because no one in the industry will properly represent the company and no one on any of the big sites shares their readers' excitement for Nintendo's products. Everywhere you look, Nintendo and Nintendo fans are treated as a joke, like some rejected step child that doesn't deserve to be looked at in the same light as the bigger competitors. We are expected to be grateful for whatever watered-down nonsense port that's thrown our way, and the only time Nintendo gets any praise is when they release a game that is so good it can't be realistically over-ridiculed (but not without some backhanded comment tagged on about how it's too bad it's "tied to an underpowered system" or "not on a system people want"). It would be easier for a lot of people in the industry if Nintendo weren't even in the picture, and unless Nintendo comes out with something that everyone wants in a frenzy again (like the Wii, a place where 3rd parties could fart out all sorts of garbage games for quick money), that's what 3rd parties and journalists are going to try and move toward. Just like they did with Sega.

Hits equal money, and nothing generates hits like an anti-Nintendo article. Fans will flock to the article to defend the company they love, and people who love to bash will flock to it to tell everyone they "told you so" and use the article as evidence to for their "Nintendo sucks" argument.

But you, like many others, are still the right ones here, right? Lumping anyone who might look at the other side of things and truly question why things are the way they are as "tin-hats" and accepting the status quo as sensible and proper is just too easy of a solution. Plus, doing so strengthens your viewpoint! No way anything these tin-hats say could have any hint of truth to them, right?

A lot of GAF posters are what I call "movement" gamers. They care about gaming as a "movement" of what they like. Sony is their great white hype. GAF is going to be great come next year and we see the contraction. The people trying to fluff up Sony are going to be hardest hit.

Not to apologize for the appalling conditions at some of these places, but imo not wasting meat (coming from a hunting / fishing background myself this is so... ugh) or just making it less of a staple in your diet is more productive than eating a chicken that lived a short but happier life on the free range before it was killed so that you could eat its flesh.

After gutting something that suffocated to death after you tricked it into sticking a hook through its flesh you kind of lose your illusions wrt humane abattoirs.

I think that's one of the tradeoffs in at least the killing process where I don't really get too concerned about things. It's like the people losing their shit over the processed "waste" that can make up cheap chicken nuggets or whatever. This is a good thing! Really!

Course, I'm one of those people who gets packs of leg quarters and split breasts to self-butcher so I can use both the meat and the bones rather than boneless, skinless chicken breast tenderloins which is all two of my friends will buy for chicken.
