yeah, didnt think of that. editing/redoing scenes in a vidjagame would be more expensive and time-consuming than redoing an average scene in a show, id think.
It depends; the higher-budget the game, the larger the production value, the harder this stuff is to get right. If you're dealing with some text, no problem, zip, zap, it's in the game. If you're dealing with voiceover work, you've got to get the text in front of the actor in front of the microphone in a studio. If you're dealing with
performance capture, you're another order of magnitude further up Shit Creek.
Real writers are awesome, though! I keep wanting to get that spy game written by comic scribe Warren Ellis,
Cold Winter. In contrast, I don't need to play OSC's
Advent Rising. Sorry, demi!
Ahaha
You guys see this? Even his own translators shit on him.
Something Agness has been critical of is Kojima's writing ability, or rather his lack of it. Offering her free opportunity to speak, I asked what she felt, "I think he's very bad at character, and I think he's extremely conventional, as in non-creative, when it comes to plotting. I know that I'll probably get an incredible amount of hate karma - can you say hate karma? - about this.
{I think Portal is really well written, very beautifully written, but Kojima's stuff is...Fine, be a game creator, and know what you're not very good at, and learn to work with people who are. Stanley Kubrick, famously, the one thing he could not do was write. He could do everything else, but he didn't know how to write, so he worked with good writers, and worked with them in a very sort of relentless partnership. He knew his limits. I don't think Kojima's a writer. The fact that he would even be considered one shows how low the standards are in the game industry. Nothing in MGS2 is above a fanfic level. He wouldn't last a morning in a network TV writers' room, and those aren't exactly turning out the Dark Tower series or The Wire."

Fucking lol.
Wow, that Agness is pretty awesome. I can only imagine she plans to never work with Konami again. I suspect Kojima just started buying into his own press releases at some point.
