The best part about this is that two xmas from now, when they both have games, xbox will be 399 as well.  I don't see them competing at two years of a 100 price difference.  Had Sony done 499 as well it would have been 3 years before a price drop.

I assume that the exclusives they got were pretty much contingent on offering publishers control of used game sales.  They cannot backtrack on that for a while, unless they just renege on already-signed contracts.

Vita had nothing.  No new announcements for PS3.  PS4 had Order 1811 and the two Square games.


Microsoft had more games for sure.  But PS4 is a much much much better platform.

Don't get me wrong, I can see the benefits of PS+ and it's pretty much a good deal for anyone, but I don't like having basic online access behind a paywall. I don't. I did that with the OG X-box (when it was worth it) I did it with the 360 (stupidly because of my love for the OG X-box, so not really worth it in the end) but after playing online for free with the PS3 and the portables, I can't go down that route with Sony. I just can't justify the money for that. PS+ gives me 90% of what I own already for free so far, maybe that would change with the PS4 but given they give games out six months later, it's doubtful. So I don't really sub to it except on times like when X-com goes free. Putting the multiplayer behind a pay-wall would kill me.

I've been xbox for quite some time so I'm used to paying for a service. I don't mind paying IF and only IF the system is set up in such a way where the UI is impeccable and it's easy to get games, use apps and find content and it's not a ridiculous price.

Well you're in luck, PS+ is the price of the old OG X-box Live sub so you'd be saving money making the jump.

But like I said: It gives games out that (if you're a hardcore person buying most things instead of waiting) you probably own. See that Halo 3 and one other game for Gold subs this month thing MS is attempting to do to copy PS+? Yeah, that's like every month PS+ has done since the service launched for me.  There may be a few gems but like 80-90% of the stuff they offer I already planned to buy and did.
