random but i really REALLY hate this old song. it encapsulates that shitty sunny-and-oh-so-goddamn-annoying sound of the mid-90s that i hate so very much. i still hear this piece of shit on the radio sometimes and it never fails to ruin my day. i wish i could find the video too because its so awful and it pisses me off too:VIDEO whoa, this song sucks but until this thread I thought the dude said, "the right time, the wrong me"... wow.Ugh - here is where i wipe my arse all over what little music cred i have : this song DOES suck - but as a younger lad i quite liked Del Amitri's album Waking Hours (which is a couple of albums before this - sort of like low grade folky crooning prior to going a bit too pop) . It's pretty average on reflection but it was at least more depressing and more palatable than their later stuff which basically saw them become a little too weak.
Though, I still contend that "Don't come home too soon" is a pretty fantastic song for a football team song - and it really does fit the "Typically Scottish"-ness of each World Cup campaign.
That said - all this might be tainted by the fact that the Scottish fans were -hands down- the best fans we met in France 98. Had an amazing time.
