About time, they should start selling a lot of their own branded phones, kinda like the xbox. and still make no money.
Ex-MS guy becomes CEO, company continues down the road of irrelevance, company gets bought by MS, Ex-MS guy goes back to MS. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm~
Nokia sounds like a good deal. I imagine it is something like 50% of Finland's GDP tied up in that company. If it goes in the toilet, they can probably expect the Finnish government to prop them up with bailouts, tax credits, etc.

I don't know how much of that money stays within the country but they are apparently the largest company in Finland. Microsoft wouldn't spend this much money to buy out a partner unless they wanted to make a long-term commitment to the smartphone market. If anything, Finns should be happy that their biggest company has a sugar daddy (although several Nokia employees will probably be laid off due to redundancy).
