Trackpads for movement suck cocks that's why.
Every single impression from devs we've seen is positive thus far

Maybe mad, but I don't see a lie in his opinion. Like him, Gabe and Company need demo days (or send me a demo unit

) to convince me. Developers say a lot of things, but that doesn't make them the "authority" like the mass-consumer base. If the consumer-base doesn't like it and doesn't buy it, well... it's a "flop" no matter how "innovative" some people find it.
yeah, depends what you mean by control. I know a touchpad is better for aiming, like, this is something I've been convinced of for years and have been waiting for someone to do. But it's the left stick behavior, the general character movement, that's the hurdle for this thing. Always thought it'd be analog stick on the left, touchpad on the right.
Given they've said people can modify the API and controller hardware, it's only a matter of time until someone does that I feel.
I think the biggest thing for me from the controller announcement is Valve going "okay, if you don't like this you can hack it yourself." It's gonna be
realllllll interesting to see what hardware and software nerds do in regards to the "OS" and controller to improve them.
