I'm kind of surprised how many people don't care about Drive Club, it was the only launch game I cared about

PGR was my favorite racing game series and after MS killed Bizarre I looked forward to where the staff would land and their new arcade racers. Some went to Playground Games and made Forza Horizon, which I tried to like, but really the game sucked because it was an arcade racer brought down by Forza's too-sim-even-on-arcade-settings physics/handling. Others went to Evolution along with almost the ENTIRE Wipeout team and the result is...Driveclub, which I'm damned curious to play and see if it'll give me that PGR arcade racing fix I've been missing since PGR4 (my favorite racer last gen).
Motorstorm team (eh, they're ok; first game was crap but 2nd game was a good arcade racer) + Wipeout Team (legendary staffers) + Good chunk of Bizarre Creations (great staff) = potential for a really damn good arcade racing studio.
So I'm actually ok with them getting more time since it means the game won't be a half-baked tech demo like PGR3, maybe. But it still sucks there's nothing disc-based at launch on PS4 that's decent besides maybe Killzone & Knack & NBA2K4 & Battlefield 4 (which is also on PC). Then nothing until Feb with Infamous.
But yeah, no one really cares about Driveclub except for system propping or system trolling purposes which is lame since it's potentially a big fucking deal in the arcade racing genre that's really gone to shit lately. Last set of good arcade racers were NFS HP & Split/Second. Black Rock studios = dead; Studio Liverpool = dead; Bizarre Creations = dead; Criterion = stuck doing NFS games and last one was a shitty C+ version of Burnout Paradise; F-Zero = Dead; Ridge Racer = Dead?; Forza/GT = boring simsville zzzzz; It's gotten really, really bad for one of my favorite genre, so goddamn I am sticking onto Driveclub like the last bastion of hope until I play it. Hands-on impressions have mostly been pretty positive citing good arcade handling and a system similar to Kudos of PGR. /Fingers crossed.
