To soften the blow of this delay Ubisoft has just announced Watch Frogs. A stunning new PS mini title where you have to collect as many gold watches as you can for these frogs who seem to go craaazy over them!

Coming Q1 2014

I'd rather have next gen Frogger. Do a Bomberman Act Zero on his ass.

there's something about eel's longing to make that new console feeling happen again that suspends any desire i have to recommend rational thinking.

it's like watching a guy wrap his own presents and then get up in the middle of the night to pour away the milk and eat half the carrot just so christmas morning is just like he always remembered.

Like you havent bought yourself gifts on your birthday.

In real life?  Nobody knows it exists.  On GAF?  Guess so.

So, Killzone is the only first party launch game?

Knack is also a launch title.

I think they have a couple of PSN things - but yeah, as far as retail goes Knack and Killzone are it if Drive Club gets delayed.

Well, that actually is an exclusive fighting game for the two next-gen systems.  And unlike KI, it will ship with more than six characters!  :heh

The funny thing about all this is that the fighting game community will chuck the next-gen consoles aside in 2014 when Ultra Street Fighter IV is released...

...for PS3, 360, and PC.

That wasn't a launch title.

I found this old CAG post on that delay:

It seems that Motorstorm is getting a slight delay for some tweaking. Sony insists that it will be March instead of Feb 26.

A much better game than KI has any chance of being. 5 years from now people will look back at a near-forgotten early gen game like KI and laugh at the shit they use to play because it was launch :neogaf

MAF liked injustice a lot, and I have no doubt it's a good game, I'm just laughing about it being a port of a 7 month old game

Knack free on ps+ would make up for it for me. Really had no interest in Drive Club. Probably going to cancel my PS4 soon anyway unless one of my friends wants to buy it from me

It will be interesting to see how KI turns out with the download model that they are using.  But only having six characters at launch and ONE playable with the F2P version is a complete fucking joke.

Sure, and if the screens I saw are really PS4, you can also laugh at it looking almost no different.    I don't have a problem with that, but LOL at it being $60.  It should be a $40 title.

I'm kind of surprised how many people don't care about Drive Club, it was the only launch game I cared about :(

PGR was my favorite racing game series and after MS killed Bizarre I looked forward to where the staff would land and their new arcade racers.  Some went to Playground Games and made Forza Horizon, which I tried to like, but really the game sucked because it was an arcade racer brought down by Forza's too-sim-even-on-arcade-settings physics/handling.  Others went to Evolution along with almost the ENTIRE Wipeout team and the result is...Driveclub, which I'm damned curious to play and see if it'll give me that PGR arcade racing fix I've been missing since PGR4 (my favorite racer last gen).

Motorstorm team (eh, they're ok; first game was crap but 2nd game was a good arcade racer) + Wipeout Team (legendary staffers) + Good chunk of Bizarre Creations (great staff) = potential for a really damn good arcade racing studio.

So I'm actually ok with them getting more time since it means the game won't be a half-baked tech demo like PGR3, maybe.  But it still sucks there's nothing disc-based at launch on PS4 that's decent besides maybe Killzone & Knack & NBA2K4 & Battlefield 4 (which is also on PC).  Then nothing until Feb with Infamous.

But yeah, no one really cares about Driveclub except for system propping or system trolling purposes which is lame since it's potentially a big fucking deal in the arcade racing genre that's really gone to shit lately.  Last set of good arcade racers were NFS HP & Split/Second.  Black Rock studios = dead; Studio Liverpool = dead; Bizarre Creations = dead; Criterion = stuck doing NFS games and last one was a shitty C+ version of Burnout Paradise; F-Zero = Dead; Ridge Racer = Dead?; Forza/GT = boring simsville zzzzz; It's gotten really, really bad for one of my favorite genre, so goddamn I am sticking onto Driveclub like the last bastion of hope until I play it.  Hands-on impressions have mostly been pretty positive citing good arcade handling and a system similar to Kudos of PGR.  /Fingers crossed.

Lol what? KI is awesome. I laughed when they first revealed it at E3, but it's actually been one of the real turnarounds for me, I got to play a lot of KI recently and it's going to be one of the bigger surprises of the X1 launch.very solid game certainly better than Injustice.

And you base this on an unfinished build of the game with what...two playable characters?  Versus Injustice, which very recently got a massive almost-1GB update patch with tons of changes?   :gurl

KI has always sucked.  No reason to see this as different.

Different developer this time, but at the same time, one that definitely needs to prove themselves.  I'm not gonna dismiss the game without playing it.  What brings it way down for me is the way the release is being handled.  I need more than six characters at release.  That's awful.  I'm amazed there are people ready to go drop $750+ on an Xbone, fightstick, and the game, too.

Was never that big a fan of Wipeout (a sin, I know) or Bizarre's games.  Motorstorm fell off quick.

A lot of those games don't come off as real 'arcade racing' games to me anyway.  The days of amazing Sega and Namco racers are sadly long gone.  The last arcade racer I really liked was Sumo Digital's Sonic Transformed.  They're pretty much the only ones keeping real arcade-style racing (with a kart twist) going.  I'm looking forward to that 90s Arcade Racer game on PC, too.

I don't care if the cars are real.  I don't want open-world design garbage.  I want crazy-ass track design and crazy speed, flashy visuals, and a good soundtrack.
