Mups its a known software issue not hardware related. I've had it happen a few times try doing a full shutdown and unplug the console for a minute. It shouldn't be a problem after you restart it. I know it fixed my issues that I was having with it.

Some updates:

Dead Rising 3 - I got the hang of this game.  I played it too much like Dynasty Warriors where you clear an area before you move on.  That was a huge mistake because the zombies keep coming and there isn't enough weaponry to kill them all.  Furthermore, most of the PP I gathered are from side missions or collectibles anyway so once I got over that, the game became much better.  I got into Chapter 2 but I keep going back to Chapter 1 to get everything I need.  My initial upgrade path is for more PP so I figured getting everything else would be easier if I earn more points.  The biggest problem I have with the game is if I pause to let my dog go out and piss, it's a toss up to see if the game remains paused or not.  The Kinect commands must be extremely sensitive or something, I don't know.

Halo Spartan Assault - I like this game as well.  Even got a couple of gold stars without any kind of upgrades.  The biggest beef I have with the game is this annoying glitch (at least I assume it is) where after you get off of a turret, you keep firing your weaponry until it runs out of ammo.  It happens at random.

I'm digging the Bone in general.  It's nice to watch Netflix without pressing a single button on the controller.  I don't like gesticulating like a distinguished mentally-challenged fellow but the voice commands are pretty nice and the Bone seems pretty responsive.

If you are concerned about the time limit - don't, they give you a shitload of time to make it nigh impossible to fail (nightmare mode excepted - you cant fuck around)

I've sunk to a new low.  Some kids in Forza multiplayer last night kept bragging about this and that and how in real life they own an Audi R8 (but they sound twelve).  So since it was right before bed time I spent the entire race singing a song about how they each had 4 wieners in their mouths and so that made them gay.  I had no wieners in my mouth so that meant that I wasn't gay.  I'm not proud of it, but it was kinda fun.

So what kind of assists are you guys using in forza? My only assist is STM. And now I am trying to get by without any rewinds. Before I removed the braking lines I was able to get away without using rewinds and consistently coming in 1st. Now without it I can't seem to get any higher than 2nd and if I end up having to use more 3 rewinds I just restart. This is kicking my ass.

I really like the video sharing stuff this generation.  I watched a bunch of videos Mojovonio uploaded of Ryse and it turned my interest from "ice cold" to "will buy".

Ryse is surprisingly fun.  I wasn't very interested at first but yeah after watching videos on the activity feed I was compelled to get it.  The production values and presentation are top notch and the game is some good basic slasher fun.  Controls can be a bit wonky sometimes but it's not much of a problem except on Legendary mode.  Then it can make you want to commit suicide.

Finished the campaign.

I broke down and spent $6 on credits.  I used it for damage boosters.  I tried the sniper rifle but that thing is pretty shitty.

The game also starts crashing a lot on the F simulations.  The last mission took me to the dashboard three times.  Of course your credits don't get refunded so money was being lost because of the game's lack of stability.  Not good.  I have a bunch of leftover credits so I started equipping score boosters and started to try to get gold stars but the game kept crashing out so I stopped.  I still have a lot of credits left so I'll get back to it and finish it.  So my thoughts:

+ Fun, interesting gameplay the rewards you for busting into an area, shooting a bunch of shit up, and then moving on
+ Standard, familiar twin stick shooter controls
+ Decent graphics; not quite new gen quality but good enough
+ Stages last anywhere from 4 to 8 minutes usually.  In later stages you will likely need to replay stages, especially if you're like me and suck at games

- IAP model in which most of the IAP sucks ass and is limited to just one mission
- Game crashes a lot in the final stages
- Weird bugs: getting out of a turret sometimes results in you automatically firing your weapons (you can stop this by pausing), the game will sometimes change the direction of your fire, and firing weapons out of the hovering vehicles is wonky and unintuitive

This game is ok.  Not worth $15 but if it is on sale some day for $5, then it isn't a bad deal.  I would make some snide remark about how this game diluted the Halo brand but I'm not sure if anyone gives a shit anymore.  If anyone is interested in playing coop, let me know.

The game has a persistent online stat's management that works with all of your friends scores. So essentially you're always playing against your friends best scores on all courses. It's not perfect, but it is fun when you get challenged by a friend in the game to beat your best.

Yeah what the others said.  The game is actually extremely gorgeous.  The compression or whatever in the capture just kills the image quality though.

Edit: Also, I like how I got a Good Pass for passing up the rolling over multiple times.  No way to fuck that one up I guess.

I think it's something to do with the original DRM they had in place for the discs. I only say that cause it reads the disc and I've gotten warnings that saying things that make me believe that even after I got my repaired unit back. When I see the warning again I'll take a picture of it, but It says something about having rights to play the game and is usually followed by disc read errors that happen after you start the software. My thought is that DRM was so baked in that it's the core cause of those errors.

Well mine just usually tell me to enter a blu ray, DVD, music cd or Xbox one game. Or it does nothing at all. I only get the rights error when I try to launch the game too soon and it hasn't spit that insert disc error. And when it gets going I never have issues. I dont know. I'll see I guess. I bought the Dead Rising 3 DLC - it's pretty short for $10, but I enjoyed it since it ties pretty well in the single player (it explains why there is a giant chopper in the middle of the street, it explains why all the safe rooms are empty, it explains just who the hell Kane is - he attacks you in the army depot, remember? it also explains why there is an army depot at that point in the game).

Achievements are straight forward. It was easy because I was godlike (max everything) so I just ran around working on PP Trials.

I decided to work towards the 1000 on this one. It's gonna be a huge grind, but, it's gotta be done.
