it just feels like every game on the 3ds would be fine if nintendo didn't have this stupid fucking urge to have to "innovate" and cater to casual distinguished mentally-challenged fellows.

i have yet to play TTYD, i want a gamecube so bad tbqh but i dont evne have a tv anymore just a computer monitor and i bet ghamecube looks like shite upscaled

TTYD is the pinnacle of Paper Mario. Get a wii from a dumpster and buy it off eBay or use dolphin or something.

Magus. You are comparing the Nintendo DS...a system that is almost ten years old, to the 3ds, which is two years old, going on three. Let me give you a hint. We didn't get TWEWY in Japan until three years into the systems life, four if you're counting the English version. Again, Retro Game Challenge (Game Center) was not released in Japan until 2007. We didn't get it until 2009. You do realize that you're comparing apples and orange that it is totally illogical, right? You're comparing a two year old system, that has that full list of games I posted on the last page on its bridge to second-third year to games that were released on the DS 3, 4 years into its life. What's next? Ghost Trick, a game that came out at the end of the DS' life, months before the 3ds' release? If you're going to reach, you might as well use a back scratcher, Magus.

I can't bring myself down to the level of owning another Wii (i already owned 3), I just want a gamecube so i can play those classics and capture nostalgia

Ah, so you realized that you dumped about 200 dollars into hardware and a game in a franchise you claim to enjoy, and sold both in a month, claim that handheld gaming sucks, but play hundreds of hours into a free IAP on a screen much smaller than the 3ds XL's (assuming you play on phone and not a tablet).

Pretty logical.  :neogaf Give me some of that money you waste.  :goty2

Himuro i'm not saying that the DS had more games than 3ds i'm saying That the 3ds has a lot of uninteressing follow-up to original DS games

And beside the DS launched with castlevania DOS,that game was badass the 3ds can only dream of that

Magus, that was just 2013. I didn't even list 2012 or 2011. You're reaching, and you know it. Considering you don't pay for these games, why does it matter what the developer is? Nintendo has brought their A game to the 3ds and are developing many great titles, including Pushmo and Crashmo.

I haven't even mentioned Shinobi, Theatrhythm, DenpaMan, Harmoknight, Bugs vs Tanks, Steamworld Dig, or Attack of the Friday Monsters. Many of these I haven't played, but people whose taste I respect enjoy them. Surely, you could too.

Whatever. I'm going to play Starship Damrey on my lunch break. I'll let Magus cry, wondering where the niche quirky j-games are, on the system he refuses to get because Nintendo and Atlus titles.

i've already played 3 etrian odyssey game each time getting more bored than the last, why would i care for another one? nintendo too is repeating the same line up they had on DS and mixing it up with some other stuff they didn't rehash in a while... mario kart, animal crossing, mario tennis, pokemon, mario golf... what's so hard to understand about that?

I haven't played three EO games. Maybe it's your fault for playing three EO games. I can totally get your point on the on Nintendo staples, though. That stuff is pretty old hat. However, 3ds has plenty of other stuff.

I mean, I even agree with you Magus. I skipped EO2 and 3 BECAUSE I knew they'd be boring since it's the same old formula. I'm not sure why you didn't do the same thing, but I'm pretty sure it's because YOU HAVE AN UNLIMITED SUPPLY OF GAMES DUE TO BEING A PIRATE whereas I have to pick and choose what I will like and spend money wisely.

The result? I'm rarely disappointed with the games I play. IMAGINE THAT.  :whoo

Screen size doesn't really matter to me... comfort to hold for the length of time you're playing a game does.  I can play PAD for like 15-20 minutes, and holding my phone is fine.  Trying to play an rpg where I want to sink hours of play per session on a handheld fucking sucks, MORESO when holding it becomes uncomfortable after about half an hour.  Fuck a handheld right in the ear.

BUT THANKS FOR PRESUMING TO KNOW MY REASONING FOR EVERYTHING, YOU MUST BE A WIZARDRESS

Musou games are just shitty grindan without the rewards tho :whew

Not really. You can grind but that is never a focal point for me. I play Musou because they're fun beat em ups, have great combat, history fan service, and rts merged with MASH. Grinding is the most tedious thing in Musou just like how it is the most tedious thing in any other genre. Grinding sucks. I don't know anyone who likes Musou LIKES grinding relationships for instance. I play for the mash.

Handhelds are pretty shitty and awful in my opinion.

If you get a PS3 now you'll be able to get most of the back libary for pretty cheap and be ready for the tail end explosion of things with Lightning Returns, Xillia 2, HD editions of FF and KH, and of course Persona 5. If PS3 plays out like PSP and Ps2 there may be even more quality stuff.

Why are people who don't like handhelds even weighing in their opinion? Since your opinion is already lopsided why even bother throwing it out there from someone who clearly wants to experience both? But whatever, Boreans gonna Bore.
