when do winter olympics start? since i quit watching WWE and EPL games are only on weekends, with MLS out, I need some sports to watch during the week. I've never watched a hockey game.

Boycotts are only worth it when they have potential to do damage. Boycotting large, corporate products, like say, the Olympics, is impossible and naive. Boycotting BET, however, is within reason.

It is, but it's a large corporate product aimed at a small percent of the population. If enough people dissent and call out their tom foolery, they will change. Meanwhile, there's likely nothing to change Putin's mind about lgbt rights, and he's going to be seeing money anyways.

I don't get nbcs deal. Are they airing via tape delay? Or is it live? I saw Olympics were on as early as 1 am? So the only watch to watch is to dvr? Do they re air it later in the day? Just how do you watch?

Live events were airing on CBC from about 10 a.m. to about a half hour ago.

The NHL shuts down during the Olympics for their players to go. Today is the last day of NHL games until the Olympics are over.

It was actually an issue during the last collective bargaining fight. The players wanted to be able to go to Sochi, while the owners didn't want to let them.
