My problem isn't making it easier. We were talking about this in the what are you playing thread, but I don't like how in Dark Souls or Demon's Souls, each level has the enemies in the same places, doing the same movements. Once you master them, it's pretty easy. But if you die and do it all over again, you're not really learning anything. It's not a structure I like or enjoy for a 40-50 hour game. For something like Mega Man which has 3-5 minute levels, sure. But not for a giant action adventure title. I prefer hard games like Spelunky where, even after I've mastered them, I can still get fucked up, because I got cocky and didn't watch the ceiling and got attacked by a hidden spider or I jumped too far and got impaled or I tried to take on a wasp queen and got fucked up. The random nature makes things unpredictable even after you've learned how to combat the game.
If Dark Souls II has something that makes the games less repetitive, I'd like to give it a try. I like the idea of Souls games, but the execution...seems like I'd have more fun with Dragon's Dogma instead. That said, I'd like to join in with the Dark Souls II people because they're an active and healhty community that helps each other out but the game, I just don't know.
