Nothing really out of the ordinary but if you're curious:

Single is 59fps
Multi is 30fps
No anti-alaising
Sub-par texture filtering
Stutter casued by a dupe frame every 64 frames

So, I never looked into this before, but apparently if you are playing only two players, you still have to do it in split screen mode. You'd think one person could use the GamePad screen while the other uses the TV, but nope! Both screens output the same image. How is Nintendo so awful at this kind of thing? Here's a chance to legitimately take advantage of this mostly useless controller that was supposed to be the whole point of the system, and they can't do what Sonic Racing accomplished at launch!?

In the online menu under Friends, there will be a checkered flag next to friends who are currently karting, then you can join them from there.

Been playing this pretty hard, damn good MK. If anyone wants to play I'm majornws on there. Usually in the GAF tournament room though and they require that stupid ass friend code.

Picked this up yesterday. Maybe it's because I've been used to Nintendo games looking like shit for so long, but does anyone feel that the visuals here are at least a little bit of a step up from what what the PS3/360 generation can do? Very impressive stuff.

The only thing I'd like to see (and maybe there's an option I'm not seeing) is a two-player mode where one player has the TV screen exclusively, and the other is on the Gamepad.

I actually find it pretty annoying, but yeah - it's not like it ruins the game or anything. Should be patched out i hope.

Single player is whatever. You need GPs to unlock racers/tracks but that's it. After that it depends how much you like time trials. The online is excellent fwiw.

Yeah, dunno what the hell happened to the MK team. Sure, they've always been pretty good with graphics, but never anything stellar. Yet this game is probably the most technically impressive game on the Wii-U so far. Even better than EAD Tokyo's new Mario!

Yep, completely agree.

I notice it only when I actively look for it and probably would never have noticed it at all if it wasn't brought up as a "big deal." It's completely a non-issue.

They basically function like rooms, but the rooms can have rules... you can have it so people join a team, specify whether levels are random or to a vote, you can restrict weapons, shells only for example.

You get a big list of popular tourneys when you pop into the tournament menu - 'no items', 'frantic /v/ weekends', etc. I see Reddit is represented on there too... but some people set theirs up to be private. I'm in the neogaf group and that's pretty good in terms of ability and people always being online...

It'd be really cool if they do update it again in future when they add DLC, maybe expand that stuff even more.
