Ultimatum is going to kick ass. I was pretty late to the Bourne party but once I saw it last summer I was blown away. Can't wait for the third.

But your post is untrue. Spiderman 3 will be good despite the shit-tastic news that keeps coming out. I'm going to see TMNT and Transformers just because both franchises meant a lot of me as a kid; TMNT looks good for what it is, and Transformers could be fun.

Of course I'm most excited about Harry Potter. 300 looks good, as does Grindhouse...but both will probably suffer from the all style/no substance problem.

I actually thought Supremacy was better. And I think Paul Greengrass' style is actually better suited to the series, so I am glad he's directing again.

Im not sure why Cheebs is comparing it to Batman (WTF?) or Bond though. I actually hate the comparison. Yes, they are both spy movies, and yes, CR definately took some (much less than some people would claim) from Bourne. After that, they are nothing alike. They are both awesome series, yet both tackle the genre totally differently. Why cant we just appreciate them both without incessantly comparing them?

But I can see people preferring one or the other. It's not like Die Hard where it is fact that the original is the best.

Yeah, the Bourne movies really surprised me. I really didn't care for Identity when I saw it in the theater, but I think that was actually because of the group of people I saw it with, and I hate that. Totally ruined my enjoyment of the movie. This fat chick that liked me was part of the group and managed to squeeze in the seat next to me, because my best friend that I asked to sit next to me wouldn't, because he thought two guys sitting next to each other didn't look right... Thanks a lot! Anyway, so I watched it later on DVD and it was fuck awesome. Supremacy was slightly less fuck awesome because of the aforementioned shakiness that was distracting as hell in certain parts.

I'd agree that many of the secondary characters weren't fleshed out much in the movie, but at the same time there were time constraints. Jackson was able to portray the Fellowship perfectly; Legolas' reaction to the Balrog in the movie is amazing. It's subtle enough for the casual viewer not to notice, but to readers of the book it spoke very loudly.

And of course there's his portrayal of Faramir which wasn't good either.

. Shits all over the others. Like I said in that other thread, I have a ton of issues with TTT and ROTK, and dont think either are great films. But FOTR? I actually would call it a bonafide genre masterpiece, and easily my favorite adventure film of all time.

Best theatre experience I ever had was seeing FOTR X-mas 2001.
