Pax is fuckin rad. PAX East was fuckin rad. This being the first PAX in SA I imagine they will want to make a splash. It'll be fuckin rad. I won't have to pay for room and board! Just plane tickets! It's gonna be a rad trip!

 I hit up Airbnb and reserved an apartment but I just noticed it's not close enough to the convention center for my taste, so that's not gonna work. Anyone have any suggestion on neighborhoods to stay in that might be nice? I was thinking of flying out, but the drive sounds kinda fun to me. It also gives me an excuse to rent an awesome car.

Pretty common closer to the event, but slightly pricey depending on where you look.

I'm sorry to inform you but I was just notified about the surge in reservations due to PAX South 2015. If you'd like to keep your current reservation for my condo It'd have to be under the new nightly rate of $380. If I don't hear back from you before 8pm (PDT) I will be forced to cancel your reservation. Do not worry you won't be charged for the cancellation. Please leave good feedback regardless.

I didn't even get a notification from Airbnb of the cancellation but sure enough it was cancelled. I'm going to contact them as the place was already reserved by the time I found out. The guy has multiple properties around the area and the one I want he screws with me.

Me in my friends were trying to find a place to stay in Philly for Made in America at the end of August and every Airbnb host we tried pulled that same shit on us. Lol at them actually thinking people going to a music festival would be willing to pay up that much. None of the locations that we wanted have been booked so far for that weekend.

It was $140 a night before he tried to extort me. Airbnb has been great for everyone I've talked to, but I've not been having much luck with it. I forwarded the message and my complaint to Airbnb though so we'll see if they decide to do anything about it. What I find hilarious about it is that it's perfectly ok to do shit like that and people can't do anything about it.

I'm still looking at hotels right now, trying to debate if I want to bring the missus with me or not.

The hosts we dealt with raised the price of all their locations over the following day or 2 once they learned about the event. Seems like a normal practice there. We got a hotel room for now as a backup. If one of the airbnb spots goes back to normal price a couple days before the festival, then we'll switch back to that.
