Here's a true cac story from the cacital city Portland: last time the wife and I went to one of our favorite little bar/reataurants Secret Society (it has like maybe 6 or 7 tables and bar in a small room) they had Neil Diamond's greatest hits on and the whole place was (quietly and politely) singing along. Speaking of Popeyes I had it last week for the first time in at least 15 years, and was not impressed at all. I wasn't familiar with the menu so I got some spicy chicken tenders and cajun fries. The chicken was rather meh, it tasted like it had been cooked in old oil. The fries were underwhelming, not nearly as flavorful as the potato wedges from KFC. In fact the only positives about the meal were the biscuit and sweet iced tea.

Not a fan of KFC but at least their stuff tastes decent.

Never been to either of those places but I've heard good things. I tend to avoid fried food but when I do get an itch for fried chicken I just make it myself. And it almost always tastes better than KFC. Even if I'm lazy and thaw some frozen chicken breasts. Having control of what spices you use, throwing garlic in there...a national joint can't compare.

KFC and CFA are both cac-run and operated, but CFA is god-tier and black people love it as much as cacs. KFC is edible, but so mediocre and way overpriced. Never heard any black person admit they ate KFC. My cactastic parents, on the other hand, were convinced for years that KFC was the only place you could get fried chicken.

Not a Popeyes fan. The chicken isn't bad but I hate their sides. They even fucked their tea up last time. I prefer Lee's for bone-in if I can't get to a local hole in the wall place.
