I was more lamenting there in general than a direct response to your post because how dare you attempt to coerce me into replying to what you want you statist pig.

How it goes Smith, then Ricardo/Say, then there's nobody (because admitting Marx is too on the nose for the "serious") until Keynes and Hayek, then Freidman. Sometimes you get Fisher thrown in there, but never Bastiat who is still in that gap between Say and Fisher. (And rarely Mises for that matter even among "friendlies" who Hayek admits he just rewrote and cleaned up around the edges.) I think sticking Bastiat and Marx in that Say-Keynes gap does a much better job of outlining political economy.

I think Rand, Hayek and Freidman would be the leaders. Economics in One Lesson is probably up there. I wouldn't be surprised if more libertarians read Ron Paul's books before Mises if they ever got around to the latter.
