I like Mirror's Edge because it's a pretty fun game.
There's something thrilling about free running and mastering the controls as you run through the environment. In a way the game kind of achieves what QTE's never actually even try, but could. I mean mapping a button press(or combo) to a specific action, so that you can press the correct buttons whenever that situation pops up without having the QTE pop up. Effortlessly running through an environment and platforming through it with no mistakes is pretty awesome. Mirror's Edge really does that. A lot of the levels are designed with enough repetitive jumping ideas that you start to actually recognize where to jump and how to jump naturally. It really captures free running the best way a game can.
And of course the visuals are great.
I have some problems with the game. I don't care for in door levels too much and the game has a ton. Combat sucks.
It's not perfect, but it's uniqueness is enough to make it quite memorable and it's a fun first person platformer.
