I love how gamers percieve "hardcore" games like Last of Us and Tomb Raider to be more of a great game than something like Paint It Back or Dungelot.
The Last Of Us and Tomb Raider are "hardcore" games now?

I'd love to see them play through a Cave shooter, tbh but then I'm sure they'd rather play The Last of Us.
"Hardcore gamers" would be the ones playing Cave shooters already...on a console. Maybe you're thinking of the bro gamer types?
I played several Cave ports on mobile and you know what? They are definitely 'mobile gaming done right' - no IAP just a (reasonable) flat rate, controls that were effectively re-done for the touch screen, no real compromise in terms of graphics and music... but I still prefer the 360 versions due to their tactile controls. I've fought this argument many times before and I have no reason to start it again, though... but mobile gamers need to stop with their "it controls just fine!", "the IAP isn't thaaaat bad...", "there's a whole ton of great games it's just the press doesn't cover them because they are biased toward AAA!", etc. Some of us have played a few mobile games before, have seem what else is out there, and came away mostly unimpressed. I'm hoping the situation with mobile gaming will get better in time, and more meatier, unique, premium priced games emerge... but for now at least with me I can ignore it and not feel like I'm missing anything.
This is exactly how I feel about mobile gaming. Would love to play more games, but can't stand touch screen controls. Don't want to shell out for the ridiculously-priced controllers, especially when not everything supports them and with phone designs changing all the time, some models wouldn't even fit the phones.
Would love to see Apple come out with an official controller, or better yet, a "gaming case" that essentially works like a PSP Go, allowing you to keep the phone's form factor, albeit with a thicker width.
