My problem with Devolution and the BCT is the endless outrage circle jerk and validation. I use the internet to talk to friends, troll, have fun, discuss my interests, watch porn, learn things, read, etc. What I don't use the internet for is to not only get outraged over shit, but also to
wallow in misery. Every now and then I make a long post about some outrage that's worth discussing - say, an unarmed kid getting shot by a police officer. What I don't find interesting or worthy of ENDLESS discussion is what 20something year old white males on a videogame forum have to say about shit. It serves no purpose and isn't constructive. Worse yet, it's not even just "hey, point at the dumbass!" antics, which at least can be entertaining. Instead it's posters vicariously living through an internet forum and patting each other on the back for being outraged at stupid shit.
Get a fucking life. This thread is busy 24/7, even on weekends, revolving around laughing at stupid shit someone said on GAF. And Devolution is the ringleader. Then you have BCT which revolves around similar griefing, mixed with anime and fried chicken talk. Needless to say, I rarely post there.
This boils down to the internet's outrage problem. Everyone has a gripe now, and demands everyone else acknowledge it. I'm supposed to feel bad that overweight people have to deal with people telling them they should lose some weight/get healthy. I'm supposed to be outraged when a guy says he treats women equally or (worse yet) holds doors open for them. I'm supposed to be outraged when white people poke fun at "black culture" which now apparently means twerking and other dumb shit.

Grow some fucking balls and get a life. There are way too many important things going on in real life for me to waste my time giving a shit what an ignorant demographic of men have to say anonymously online.
