This whole thing sorta highlights what I hate about the Sarkessian videos and Thunderfoot Videos and the whole gamergate thing and now this.
Maybe Atra can understand it because he's had an upbringing similar to mine but it just sorta all smacks of religious apologist stuff.
Like this guy in this "effect" video. He begins with essentially saying "We're making a documentary about how SJWs are ruining everything!" Then a few minutes later is like "We'll do our investigation and report results. No bias slant!" Yeah, bullshit. He's already made up his mind and will find the "evidence" no matter how small, or skew the evidence to make his point. Growing up mormon this kind of thinking was everywhere. "The answers are in the book of mormon, find the evidence to back it up!" Likewise, I remember when the whole Sarkeesian kickstarter was just starting and not participating because I had had enough of "I have the answer now to find the evidence!" kinda stuff.
Some people are into that. I get it. Most of Op-Ed reporting is just that. But I generally don't like most Op-Ed stuff either. But seeing how people are going about this, and the two camps, and all that does in fact sorta trigger me and I'm like "Nope. I've seen all this before and I'm out." Does that make me a bad person? Nah, there's a lot of other reasons I'm a bad person.
edit: i just got to the part where he says this is to expose the "corruption and collusion" in the industry.

On second thought maybe I should just enjoy this from a sheer entertainment point of view.
