The only Marvel movies I've enjoyed are Captain America 2, Guardians, and maybe Iron Man 3. The rest have either been outright shitty or just run of the mill. I mean Marvel deserves praise for making this all connected, but lets not act like most of these comic book movies or tv shows aren't anything but mass market average media. The marvel stuff especially is extremely safe.
As far as comic movies go, honestly I never liked the X-men movies. They never captured what I liked about the X-men. I did like The Wolverine, well until a transformer showed up. Nolan's Batman movies may get a lot of shit thanks to the annoying fans, but they are actual honest to goodness good movies. Not comic book movies, good movies in general. Except maybe Rises gets a little unruly and messy.
Honestly the first two rami Spider-Man movies are pretty awesome with Spider-man 2 being the one comic book movie that I feel honestly feels like a comic book. Too bad about the 3rd movie.
I'm pretty biased with Superman. I grew up with 1 and 2 and while they haven't aged I still like them. Returns is boring and Man of Steel is stupid, but whatever explosions.
I love the look and feel of the Burton Batman movies at least. The ooze personality and atmosphere and are just so strange. I do feel like they are closest to capturing the more comic booky nature of Batman.
I don't know. I don't get this hoopla over Marvel and how it's created fanboys simply for the movies themselves. They are decent action movies at best, but it's not like they come anywhere close to the comics. If you like the movies I don't know why you would'nt want to read the comics. Most of the movies pull from the comics and then filter them into an easy to sallow pull for the mass market.
