Commercial was fine, some folks are upset about it because of their everyday marginalization.
tbh I can understand the hyper sensitivity some members of the trans community have toward stuff. We live in a society where trans issues aren't even a blip on the radar. And when they do crop up, people are incredibly dismissive. I myself was SUPER dismissive RE: Dr. V's magical putter, there were legit issues with that story that, while not as terrible as they were made out to be, should have been accounted for. Yet dudes like me kept pushing it as not a big deal in light of the greater story. That kinda sucks.
It's just a really toxic atmosphere that breeds defensiveness. Not really an excuse, we're all accountable for our actions at the end of the day. But I get it and it's understandable. Obnoxious sometimes but understandable and something that isn't hard to give someone a pass over baring extreme circumstances (eg dudes calling Caleb a murder for the aforementioned story).
