It goes both ways.
On one hand, there are definitely SOME blacks who hate you trying to better yourself, but that goes for a lot of people who aren't well off. I bet you if you got educated in your bum fuck trailer park ville, people would point their noses at that. That has little to do with being black, and more to do with ignorance. Though, it DOES happen, but if there's anything I have learned in life it's to not give a fuck about what anyone says about you and just be you.
On the other hand, a lot of successful blacks barely look out for where they came from, forget their roots, and hold up odd views that espouse classism and elitism rather than solidarity. I'm not going to say every rich black person's job is representing us, but it'd be nice to have SOME elite representation. When the few people you have to look up to in the mainstream are a bunch of sold out rappers and ball players, that's a problem. But it's what we have. So, in a lot of ways, many successful blacks actually deserve a lot of the criticism they have garnered especially one Sir Charles.
This ignores the fact that many so-called "intelligent" blacks are cornballs and social idiots who think too highly of themselves as if they're the only smart colored person in the room.
