Perhaps they're reinforcing the nerd belief that actual sports are inferior to video games.

Still I hate seeing mods swoop into community threads and ban people based on out of context shit. It sounds like the soccer thread got murked for semi decent reasons but I remember when Dragona and others would waltz into threads and ban people for "name calling" that was tongue in cheek.

Dead eye is the slow mo mechanic in Red Dead Redemption. It upgraded as you progressed through the story. Starts as slo mo, changes to hover over targets to mark them, and then the final upgrade is free aim marking so you can choose where to place multiple shots.

In The Order its a instant win mechanic.

The devs also didn't help themselves. They did some of the sleaziest disingenuous interviews I've ever seen. And the "bully" stuff once it was clear that what they delivered was going to be slammed is also bad. You have to take your lumps. You can't be out there talking all this smack unless you are delivering the goods.

Before you got dead eye there was a snap to mechanic. You could hold aim down and move it around or you could hold aim, it snaps to nearest enemy, you shoot til he dies, let go of aim, press aim again, it snaps to next dude and shoot him.

Think that's just autoaim. RDR did have a few aiming modes. If that's what you originally meant by autoaim, RDR indeed does have really guided autoaim.

There's numerous times where you'd think the community would look down at their bloody hands and realize "Okay, this is it, next time will be different." Twilight Princess, Uncharted 3, basically any exclusive game in the last five years, but no. It's the same faces, the same agendas, the same arguments about how "I don't hate the review, they're just unprofessional," or "I am not arguing the score, I am arguing how badly the review is written," or "I'm not hating on the bad review, but this clearly opinion-based thing they said is totally wrong."

this is a sorry sight

Think that's just autoaim. RDR did have a few aiming modes. If that's what you originally meant by autoaim, RDR indeed does have really guided autoaim.
