The Bore is essentially the most vibrant GAF splinter forum in comparison to the others.

-OA has been in decline since a bunch of their regulars have left.
-WYL... lol... I posted there briefly before I found EvilBore. It's essentially NeoGAF with a microscopic user-base that barely posts.
-SLAENT is a sports tinged version of WYL (back when it still had a small yet decent amount of regulars).

Some (dis)honorable mentions:
Corn-rages: St. Corn's OA splinter forum.
EvilDemi: Squiddy's shame box & echo chamber.
NeoFAG: swirling vortex of hatred and teen angst.

There have also been about a dozen offshoots of OA, which are probably still around if you care to Google hard enough.  For a while, there were two active versions of OA going at the same time.

SLAENT sucks for the same reason WYL sucked: it's just another version of GAF.  Why the fuck would you waste time on a board that strives to be the exact same thing as GAF when you could just post on GAF instead?  All these freaks know is heavy handed modding where users are treated like cattle to be prodded here and there.  Most of these dorks are on those boards as long as it takes until their alt account gets approved on GAF.

The thing that bums me out about Slaent is that no one there cares about any sport except the NBA. There's only one active thread. The entire forum is basically that thread and nothing else. I posted for awhile but I don't care that much about the NBA and I don't like talking to myself.

It was originally just to be a place for NBA-GAF threads to be revived as they were pre-crackdown, and it was only that for a few months but few people were coming over, then they wanted to go in this direction of "lifestyle" and shit. And do fancy designs.

Though a lot of the people have since made it over. Vaghan unfortunately being one of them. Or maybe fortunately since he stopped posting in PoliGAF.

the game is what it is. It's telling a story. Is it a great game? No. Is it a bad game? Definitely not. It's definitely somewhere in the middle.
