Agree with all of this. Those types of posts bother me a lot, mainly because the poster disregards somebody as a human being over something that brings them entertainment. I never treat people in retail with disdain, because they fucking work at a retail job.

Fake or not, seeking gamer cred on a forum over treating another human being with a thimble of respect is pitiful.

I don't know why this is funny, this happens to me all the time when I debunk the legitimacy of the state to service workers, or really, anyone I come into contact with. It's like any NeoGAF thread where I do it only with even more people's minds being blown at the veil of ignorance being lifted by my version of synthesis. Often even bystanders are taken aback.

The only GameStop "argument" I remember participating in occured the day after StarCraft 2 was revealed for the first time. I went to GS to pick up something WoW related and one of the employees asked if I wanted to preorder "World Of StarCraft," which he claimed was just confirmed by Blizzard. I told him it was actually SC2, I watched the event live last night, etc but he kept insisting it was an MMO. I bought my item and left shaking my head.

Speaking of beatings, I missed this as I had already quit the store, but at the mom n' pop game shop I worked at years ago, two of the more annoying customers we had got into a full on heated fist fight.  Two guys, getting arrested...over arguing about comic books in a video game store.  Doesn't get any nerdier than that.
