The thing that successful people always forget is that yes they might have pulled themselves up, but there's also a large element of luck in the equation. Yes, you might be smart and work hard but someone has to give you an opportunity and many people never get that opportunity. I could be considered successful at work, and yeah, I work hard, but I'm not arrogant enough to think that I made it here on my own or that most people if given the same opportunities I was couldnt accomplish the same.
