Games as a service should've happened ages ago. I'd definitely pay $5 a couple of months to binge on CoD or play every Assassins Creed clone Ubisoft makes. The majority of people against this are usually hypocrites.

The issue there is fragmentation. Nobody wants to pay a monthly fee for several services. It's why all sub-based MMOs lingered in WoWs shadow. If Steam offered a subscription I'd be on board.

TBH no matter the legality it's inappropriate in academia or any scenario where there's a power imbalance like that / expectation of trust.

I can't disagree there.

How many EA titles are in GWG?

Does that matter if you're paying $6 a month for EA titles AND aren't at the beck and call of random selection for "free" titles?

If anything, I'd rather have the GwG 360 service than the GwG PSN/X-box rental service. At least then he'd have a pot to piss in with "well after you're done subbing you get to KEEP the things you rented off them."

I don't even see a reason to argue against EA access other than either you like the games or you don't.  If you like the games 6 dollars a month is a pretty fair price for the selection that is in the vault currently.

Also LOL at Bish calling 6 and 10 hours of full access (DA) or 10 hours of a few chapters of the single player and full multi (which everyone gets battlefield games for anyways) a "demo"

GTFO

Yeah, I've never played a demo that had six hours of content. Putting six hours of time into a demo? Yeah, that definitely can happen or has happened. A demo having that much shit as a baseline? Never has happened.

I'll shit on EA for the shit they produce, but EA access is actually one of the few things recently that isn't bad at all.

I'm just waiting till they put FIFA 15 on EA access to subscribe. I have the disc versions of BF4 and NFS Rivals (I know :ufup) but getting NHL and Madden after the season is over is a neat idea. Plants Vs Zombies GW and Peggle 2 is a bonus. I mean, if you can't get a cut of the pre-owned market. Provide incentive by netflix-ing your back catalog so people will buy a $30 a year sub instead of getting nothing and entice em' into the DLC too. It's what Nintendo should be doing with the VC except Nintendo are cheap, Ninthings are idiots and they can't make an account system for the life of them. (Download full SNES ROM Collections off Mega.co.nz to play off your phone, brehs). Bish is a goddamn distinguished mentally-challenged fellow since this should be the future instead of an excuse for Sony's online paywall tax.

Seriously how fucking far ahead of its time was Gametap? Hundreds of games for a subscription and watch a single advertisement for free access to a rotating selection of games.

Yeah, let's nerf everyone because some people are perceived to be bad at certain skills.

In my experience in the tech industry for the same job women make around as much, and at time more than their male counter parts for the same job/experience level. Certainly in my team I know that the women that report to me actually make a little more than their male counterparts because they're just better at it.
Honestly I think it has more to do with the burden of child care than negotiation skills.  In fact with me none of my employees actually negotiated much, in any company. Ever.

The logic for this goes: "We don't want to pay women more than we pay men.  We think men negotiate better for more pay.  Therefore we will ban negotiating for pay."

The fuck?

Honestly, if you account for a supposed problem by noting that it is because one group is asking for more in a voluntary exchange, then you've determined that there was never a problem to begin with.  False alarm.  No solution needed.

You can keep Games With Gold titles even after you stop paying for gold, that's about the only difference. :smug

Yes, GWG on 360 it is yours forever. XB1 works like PS+ -- except you arent locked out from buying the game when you expire. PS+ still hasnt solved that issue.

That thread is giving me the biggest fucking headache.  I can't believe all that it takes to dupe intelligent people is to hide something obviously being done to suppress wages behind the -thinnest- veneer of being progressive.

And anyone in that thread who says salary negotiation and the kind of negotiation that happens internally are different things... I honestly have to question if they've ever actually worked in a corporate environment.

I'll just say I take issue with your choice of the word "bribe."

At no time did I ever imply or otherwise infer that I would expect coverage - let alone dictate the tone or tenor of said coverage.

What ever you choose to say or write or otherwise do to cover the event (or not at all) was entirely up to you. I said it then, and I"ll say it again: This was a 100% no strings attached professional courtesy I was extending to anther member of the community. No expectations were implied or inferred.

I wanted to make sure you could see, in person, the Xbox briefing so you could draw your own conclusions. How or if you shared them was entirely up to you.

That was it.

No strings attached. Period.

Assuming that I would expect anything in return is just flat out wrong and misrepresents my intention. It's also incorrect to assume that I would somehow use this to create an uncomfortable situation when we would meet at E3. I think I have conducted myself in a much more professional and upstanding manner both online and in person that you would have understood that.

Thanks.

Also, only dumb fuck boys think E3 is some sort of holy grail where waiting in line to play a demo is some sort of honor and golden opportunity. E3 for most press is strenuous and exhausting work, for non media people its waiting around and trying to navigate to wait somewhere else.

Yeah, professional courtesy and doing your job as PR guy was how I had interpreted it, since I had no reason to think otherwise, and I declined politely (as far as I'm aware) and thought nothing of it at the time.

Until a flagrantly disrespectful encounter at that E3 afterwards, which colored my perceptions of how you had taken the exchange in retrospect, hence the harsh commentary over at Kotaku.

Maybe I somehow misinterpreted the scenario where I walked up to you with my group in order to thank you in person for the E3 offer, said hi, made eye contact, went in for a handshake, and then you took my hand but immediately spun a 180 while the handshake was still in progress to directly put your back to me, to gasps and aghast facial expressions from the people I was with. A little bit '60s comic book villain, but charming in its forthrightness, I will say.

But, you know, maybe somehow it's all a misunderstanding, as unlikely as that seems, and I shouldn't have spoken harshly on Kotaku in case it was, leading to this silly public drama we have on our hands now. But had there been any room for interpretation I would have given the benefit of the doubt.

Ain't internet drama fun? At least this isn't on Twitter.
