Its probably for traveling yeah. That money could be spent on the games being shown or hyped on though, that money can be spent in any number of ways. Paying money at all for demos is dumb, paying to play demos that you have to wait in line to play is even dumber.

I don't think I would go to E3 and I live in LA.
It always struck me as cooler from a distance than being boots on the ground.

For people in the industry, its stressful and exhausting work. For us consumers, some really fun nuggets get laid out for us to think about for a while.

Frankly, I'm surprised E3 is still a thing.
Seems a really ineffective way to get your message out while being shouted out by your competitors.
Say what you will about Nintendo, their idea of having their own event independent of any outside convention makes a lot more sense.

"Relative success" of other platforms? Yeah I mean compared to Nintendo, who is dealing with a catastrophic erosion of a core pillar of their business and is much better equipped to handle the audience that remains (kids and manbabby), Sony mismanaged vita. But there was never another alternative.

Honestly i could see some benefit if its also for chilling in LA itself as your first time (check some restaurants like Portillos, bars, Hollywood strip, etc) or something.

If its strictly just to go to E3 then yea that's kinda of a waste.

I've been to E3 every year since 2008, I only go on the last day and I only really go to see old friends/coworkers. Otherwise its pretty awful these days. Last year was really bad because they were constantly scanning badges, it made going between the two halls a pain in the ass.

So...I lost my virginity today.

With my girlfriend, we've been together for six months and been dating for a year. I love her a lot :)

It was nice, wasn't that big of a deal, it just felt natural and comfortable, we were both first timers, and luckily it didn't suck, we both got a lot enjoyment out of it. I feel happy about it. Couldn't have asked for anything better.

But now, at home. I´m also kind of worried, as I've mentioned before I'm 22 and I was holding out because of my obsessive fears with unplanned parenthood (It's been a regular problem in my family). We were both contraceptive freaks today, condoms, pills, pulling out, safeday...We were very careful in planning everything. So I´m not worried with that.

Still It's kind of scary to think that I might screw her life up with just one mistake on this (and no, abortions are not an option for any of us) I know it's immature, but I've had obsessive fears since I was a kid, getting shot, failing at my career,my parents dying, getting sick, that kind of stuff that sticks in your head and never lets go.

Should I talk to her about it? I don't want to scare her.

I'd really appreciate some tips on how to handle my newly started sex life.

Thanks Guys.

Sounds like a great time to me. Congrats OP.

Definitely a lot better than my virginity story. I had death grip syndrome (had no idea what it was at the time) so I couldn't cum even after 45+ minutes. Eventually my gf started crying and told me she had started thinking about her ex-bf, so we stopped. Then she guilt tripped me for not finishing, giving me that "maybe you're not attracted to me" bullshit. Woman, I wouldn't be losing my virginity to you if I didn't find you attractive. Overall it was a pretty awful experience.

I don't really understand why so many people are so insecure they have to come out and be all "woah I don't want to have sex with pixels" when finding a character attractive has nothing to do with wanting to have sex with them

I can't actually think of any video game characters I find attractive, but I can think of girls in novels that would be pretty cool to hang out with (if they were real), but that doesn't mean I feel compelled to say "but I don't want to fuck a book"
