With Smash the base game is so packed I don't really care. After spending an entire generation wishing Brawl had DLC and updates I guess I'll take what I can get. :yeshrug

I'm mostly in it for DLC stages though, and those are priced well. :aah

It's real and it's happening. Suck it haters. Sony is going to save gaming, one game at a time.

:rofl

Yu Suzuki hit up a Bajiquan master he used for references and research for Virtua Fighter and Shenmue (Akira Yuki's style is hakkyokuken/bajiquan). Some people think that means he's researching for 3. Of course, this ignores they're friends, and the master lives in China and they haven't seen each other in 10 years. :rofl

Nothing's going to happen, people. Yu's just fucking around. :sabu

This might actually be a fairly fun E3 if all the "stuff" comes in, but i suspect most of it will be left for TGS

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Shemue was a better experience than a game. And I honestly have to wonder if said "experience" would be as meaningful in 2015.

In animal crossing you get to build a town and  expand your house. In shenmue you air out books

That's exactly why it's meaningful in a medium that is all action, all the time. You make no sense.

People devote themselves to defending The Order. Of course there will be plenty of folks pretending they like whatever Shenmue 3 (lol) is in 2015

To be fair, Shenmue has more gameplay than modern games like The Order or Beyond Two Souls or Rome or even stuff like Walking Dead. Which is pretty delicious in terms of irony.

It's not really that sad. Despite people saying Shenmue has no gameplay, it still has oldschool game design principles and does not hold you by the hand. Much more than I case for games like The Order.   :jawalrus

It still puts a lot of modern games to shame. When you think how much stuff Shenmue I and II let you do within the game world.

Eh, the design of Shenmue was pretty unique for both games. Instances where you can fuck up but continue on with the story, multiple ways of completing investigation puzzles, tons of ways to earn currency and spend it. There's a lot of little things that were done for that series that weren't done for any other action/adventure game.

Shenmue 1&2 are unique as fuck, but they aren't fun games to play. The best example of playing a game once and putting it down forever.
OH!

Naw. Shenmue is fun but it's a different kind of fun. When I have an awful day, I boot up Shenmue and play darts. Works every time. It takes a certain type of gamer to enjoy it, I'll say that. But that's true for a lot of games, whether it's Animal Crossing or Walking Dead. Not all games are for every type of gamer.

I respect this stance when a game is being discussed. As it ends circular discussion on a good note.

I'd buy Shenmue 1&2 remastered as well if Japanese voice acting is provided.

Shenmue II is great with Japanese voices despite the fact it's in China. I've never played Shenmue 1 in Japanese, but I think I could hack it now. I might give it a go next time. Anyone have experience with DC VGA? I usually just emulate these days.

I'd rather just go with VGA. Heh. Shenmue 1 and 2 look amazing in HDMI emulated, but they still look great in VGA too.

Realistic best case scenario: Shenmue 1&2 remastered, all the trimmings.

Realistic worst case scenario: Shenmue 3 is being made and it plays like a Telltale game.

I don't know about you guys, but I've already asked for Monday off, arranged my command center, planned my E3 snacks, and prepared my reaction GIFs. I'm gonna be on GAF's epic OTs, GAF's IRC, and on twitter.

... Come E3, the void will finally be filled.

I doubt that is why he got banned

His avatar is gone though. Seems to me the avatar did him in otherwise it wouldn't be deleted.

Unless there's some new change in policy that says a ban must also be accompanied with avatar removal? :leon

Nah, bans have had a tendency, perm or not, to cause avatars to disappear.
A glitch apparently that no one gives a shit to deal with.

Edit: To prove it, I went to a long thread, at the start and looked for banned folks.

I know this guy had an avatar of sorts, definitely didn't get banned for the avatar but lo and behold it is gone.

Some people posted that Nintendo did a English translation for Mother 1 and a English version has been online for some time now. There are also people hoping and praying Mother 3 gets localized.

Mother 3 has had a unofficial translated release for a couple of years now, maybe even more. Are these dudes allergic to emulating games that never came out in the West?
