I think Kojima himself said there would be a lot less cutscene stuff in MGS V, and that his team would try to structure missions or the entire game like a TV show. If Ground Zeroes is any indication, cutscene stuff will be a lot shorter and to the point.

Another huge problem with MGS4 were recycled characters that didn't need to be in another MGS game. MGS V has a ton of new characters, along with focusing on new backstory stuff instead of retreading what we already know. MGS V being a MGS4 styled fuck up seems very unlikely.

Kojima and his team's worse game when it comes to dialog is Zone of the Enders 2, shit is 80's anime dub bad.

When has Kojima lied like Molyneux? MGS trailers were on point and never showed cut gameplay features for the most part. The only thing that comes to mind is MGS4 looking worse than when it was revealed.

He did say shit like "I'm done after this MGS" and then continued to work on the franchise for one reason or another. This time will be the legit last time though.

I mean, he admitted that the original Metal Gear Rising was going to be shit and he/that team had to call it quits. He and his team were also honest about Ground Zeroes being a glorified demo, telling people that one of their own dudes beat it in five minutes. Molyneux has never owned up to any of the shit he pulled or worked on.

First two chapters weren't that hot even. I was a bit jaded at the bit where you attack the mansion in the jungle when it turned out after only a few minutes that it was just an infinite loop of voice acting and PNC scripts. Also already a on-rail sequence. Best part of the game was sneaking on the boat bridge at the end, by far the best layout in the game and lots of enemies. Too bad it's so short...

Kojima didn't lie, but I think people likened him to Molyneux because he overpromised, at one point he was claiming that MGS4 would drop Snake into a battlezone and you would have to slip in unnoticed by opposing factions. The final game did something much more easier : MGS is kind of a trainwreck (the game should have been laughed just out of principle for the fact you have to install each chapter... WTF ? Also the second part of boss fights and Drebin giving you all the exposition after : so sooo bad.) and I think it shows it's the mangled, smaller version of a much more ambitious project (or projects) that have been trimmed down to its working parts because Konami was probably getting red with anger.

That said, I agree that Kojima seems to be less of a snake oil vendor. He's a bit douchey though in how he communicates.

When I was in the hospital, the nurse told me about another guy who was hit the same day I was. He was hit by a semi on the highway and went under the wheels. What a terrible way to go.
