Big Ten will be interesting. OSU is fucked with their starting QB out for the season so I'd imagine MSU will win the conference. But PSU has shaken off the burdens of child rape and are apparently going to be good. NCAA should have shitcanned them for a decade.

I don't. MSU has lost a lot of veterans on their o-line, and Oregon's offense is, arguably, the strongest it's been since the program got big. The defenses are where the big question is, with MSU's still being pretty strong and Oregon's having some patches to cover up. It's gonna be a good game, but not the one Oregon will lose.

to be fair Mack Brown left the cupboard bear. Of course I have a feeling Strong won't last two years there, he's a placeholder/scapegoat. Which sucks because he's a really good coach.

All that preseason hype feels squandered. They're gonna face an actual team and bite it. And Hundley is such a good QB, too. Then again, it wasn't just them that struggled this weekend. Both Washington teams, and USC/Stanford all looked real weak this weekend.

I think Patterson sticks with Strong for a while since it's his guy, and I don't think he wants to be overrun by the boosters like Dodd was.

I feel bad for Strong. Dude is a really good coach but not the type of good old boy Texas craves. And I don't think it's all about race per say - Kevin Sumlin would thrive at Texas for instance because his personality fits what they want. But Strong seems socially awkward, and while he has improved he's still not the guy boosters want. He's not giving them access, isn't letting them watch game film (as Mack Brown did), etc. I salute him for all that of course, but it makes things harder at a place like Texas.

Worse yet I feel like he might be getting set up. Bring the black dude in with a literally bare cupboard, watch him fail a couple seasons, then bring in a high profile coach after Strong has rebuilt the recruiting and let the new coach win. I don't see Strong lasting long.

His team is trash thanks to Mack Brown's horrible recruiting. And yet he isn't afraid to cut guys for being dumbasses. Dude has big balls.
