He's the best part of that awful HBO show. His performance is perplexing yet relatable, and he carries every single scene he's in. I despise his character, but thats because of how well Driver plays him.
That said, I hope him being in Star Wars won't be like Pine being in Star Trek. I'd like for him to be able to find great roles else where without only being known for a nerdy fantasy movie.
Also, being on
Star Wars is something of a curse. Harrison Ford managed to turn it into something bigger, but no other up-and-coming stars have been unscathed by their appearance in
Star Wars, original or prequels. Carrie Fisher and Mark Hammill both did nothing else of significance. Sir Alec Guinness lamented his appearance in it. Nobody wants to hear it, but Hayden Christiansen is a good actor, but has been sidelined by his miserable results in the prequels.
Plus, ever since Pine appeared in
Star Trek, I can't tell him apart from Neal McDonough in
Captain America.
