Bought my lunch today because the pizza-thief might be lurking.

Went to this takeout-buffet place downstairs. They have all kinds of food there for decent prices. As I'm walking over to one side of the place, there's this sense of dread and people scatter. Behind me is an immensely-heavyset woman, who I'd like to call "Big Bertha," filling up her box with huge amounts of food. I want to get some pepper steak and say "excuse me." Bertha gives me this death stare and promptly ignores me. I manage to reach under the massive arm in my way, grab the spoon, get some food, and get out of there. That shit was scary. There was this weird aura about her. It's like she was the black female version of Mr. Heart from Fist Of The North Star.

I live in a rather diverse area but the Tinder demographics are about 85% white chicks, 10% black chicks, 5% Asian/Indian. To make matters worse the black chicks are straight up busted - overweight or oddly stereotypical ("I AM A INDEPENDENT WOMAN WITH THREE KIDS, IF U SERIOUS U NEED TOO UNDERSTAND I LIKE BEING SPOILED"). Rejecting each black chick just took a toll on me brehs. Meanwhile there are so many attractive white and Asian chicks. Made me feel like I was discriminating.

I bet the selections would be way better/more diverse if I browsed Tinder on U of M's campus.

Got a 3PM email that my boss has a new boss and he can't stand her. He was so pissed off, he walked out. At least she is based in Albany and not HQ. I'm pretty nervous he's gonna bail. He's the glue that holds 140 people, 3 offices, and over 500 machines together and that's key to helping keep a software company profitable. If he leaves, things will fall apart very quickly and I'm worried about being left holding the bag.

Only employ 2 IT people and piss off the one who holds the keys to the kingdom, brehs.

Got an email today from someone saying the below:

"Puppy,
I wanted to let you know that Friday was my last day with <company>. I've decided to take a position with another company. I wanted to take a moment out and thank you for your example and mentorship. Working on your projects taught me so much about how projects should be run and employees treated and motivated and you are a great example."

And my reaction was

"I have no memory of this person"

Seriously. I remember the name vaguely, and I know they worked on one of my projects. But I don't remember what project it was, what they did on the project or how we interacted. Sent a "thanks and best of luck!" email but feel like such a fake. Especially since the praise was about how I treated and motivated employees.
