Won the major prize at my kids' school fete. A new 55" tv, coffee machine, sparkling water maker and two Bluetooth speakers. Not sure on the brand/type of tv though.

Trying to lose weight. I'm doing 18-hour intermittent fasting.

I've managed it 3 times in the last 5 days.

Feels great. And so far I haven't killed anyone.

Sorry I haven't been on for a while, I have been super busy.

Got my weight down to 197 as of this morning. That's from 237 on Jan 1 and about 250 last summer. I am thrilled with that. I'd love to be in the 180s.

Up to 12 pinball games in the house, 9 running, 3 projects.

Assistant Directed a play here in town that broke even, so that's not bad.

I got cast in our local production of La Cage aux Folles. I'm Albin, the lead of the show, and she is a 50 year old drag queen. If you've ever seen The Birdcage, it's basically that. I'm Nathan Lane.

We've done makeup tests.

I'm fabulous.

Fought an insurance company who had charged me for a year and a half for "balance protection" on my credit card, even though I only reluctantly agreed based on the agent insisting it was completely, 100% free and wouldn't cost me a dime, ever.

Didn't realize every month I was paying for this shit, and the kicker was I couldn't even use it, because I'm self-employed, which made me ineligible to collect.

Called last week, demanded every fucking penny back, first agent said they sent me some welcome package and that I was on the hook for all of it, but they'd refund 2 months. Fuck that, I want every single penny back (a year and a half's worth, approx $220). Escalated it.

Called me back days later, new lady was the biggest bitch I've ever dealt with. I demanded a transcript of my original call, since that was the binding agreement. She fought like hell to talk me out of requesting said transcript. My wife works in a call centre for a major company and knew full well they had to have and provide me with the transcript. I insisted, she said they don't lose these requests 99% of the time. She tried everything to talk me out of sending the transcript.

Called me back again today - different guy. Said he reviewed my complaint, blah blah blah. And then the says "and we've decided to refund you, in full, even though we normally don't refund more than $200.  :lol Fucking rights!

TLDR: I fought the law, and the 'Gun won ($220).

Apparently my boss is pissed I only gave him a weeks notice.

It's what's in the shit contract he gave me but I guess its not that fun when the tables are turned.

My collegaue said that yesterday he went on a one hour tirade about me and some other former (and current) employees. It's always everyone elses fault when people quit when in reality it's because of him.

This is a guy that promised me a lead position and higher pay, even in front of the whole team and then two months later backpedalled on everything so I'm soooo happy he is pissed now. If it wasn't for this betrayal and his shitty management I wouldn't even have applied for my new job.

In California with sister and my mom, had a great day in Santa Cruz today, including a trip to Atlantis Fantasyworld, which I've been visiting since 1986. My son got to play some Super Hot on PS4 and then on an Oculus Quest. It's nearly as good as the PSVR version which is pretty stunning, all things considered. Had three different kinds of rye whiskey tonight.

Quote
Joe Reeves as Albin is worth the price of admission all by himself. He makes the audience laugh one minute, blush the next, and feel great sorrow the next. While the show is lighthearted fun, the undertone of struggling to be accepted in a world that doesn’t understand or even agree with how you live is definitely there. And Reeves plays it beautifully.

An actual stage-artist on the bore!

The spirit world never leaves you 💨

My dad once at family party, thinking he was Mr Cool Guy did the biggest just like super over exaggerated SERIES of monster hits in a row off of a whip vape I brought, not having smoked weed in decades. We tried to tell him it was going to be a lot stronger than what he did back in the day, and I think he wanted to show us kids that he really used to get down and could handle it, in a state of drunken machismo. He stops and we’re all just standing there waiting for him to fall over or something but he shoots right up, spreads his arms and says

“Wait, can it be? The spirit world!”

He passed out shortly after.

Anyway, just wanted to be able to reference that, kthx

Preparing for Monday on Friday (and some of Saturday) so you're never not-ready.
:snob

I kinda did this. I had a presentation to give this morning, so on Friday I did a dry run of it with everyone who would have been in today's meeting... except the CEO. And it went great.

However, I still had a lengthy anxious episode from when I woke up until I finished giving it. Well actually, the anxiety faded after I was a couple sentences in. Then my "fake it til you make it" voice kicked in and I was OK from there.

I ended up getting the CEO's approval and thanks  :science

since i was in like 7th grade, i had horrible dental hygiene. gums would bleed constantly and i needed repeated deep cleanings. everyone hates/dislikes trips to the dentist, i'm sure, but mine were riddled with much more fear. no matter what i did, i could not last more than a few weeks without the problem resurfacing. the problem grew worse and more destructive as time went on, and got bad enough that i have permanent damage in the bone area that supports your teeth, resulting in the need for my first ever gum surgery.

this happened 3 and 1/2 years ago, and i am proud to say that as of today with my most recent trip, i have not had the need for anything beyond a basic cleaning since. instead of going in every 2-3 months, i'm now able to go in twice a year. for the most part, i'm now basically a normal dental patient  :D

I hate to say it, but by far the biggest thing was incorporating flossing. i mean, brushing twice a day also helps, but the flossing was definitely the silver bullet.

Took a shitload of PS4 games and got rid of them tonight- Had been thinking about stopping the collecting thing for PS4 (don't play it much anymore) and just decided to go and clear out stuff- Sold most of the games to Gamestop and another batch to Amazon for about $700 total.

None of this was the "rare" stuff so was happy to get rid of it and I still have too many games for this thing, but it just felt good to dump stuff and free up space.  Joy was sparked, etc.

Flossing can be such a drag, but is even more important than brushing your teeth. Do both twice a day and your teeth will forgive a lot.

ALWAYS FLOSS, FOLKS.

it used to take me like about 10 minutes when i first started, and the first couple of weeks were pretty cumbersome. but honestly, once you get used to it, it's not that bad, surprisingly. now i can floss in under 2 mins. for me the biggest problem is that i eat late at night and i have to wait an hour before brushing, and so i tend to get tired and fall asleep before i can brush/floss.

Yeah, same for me. I could probably brush me teeth only once a day (I've never had any holes in my adult teeth) but a day without flossing and my gums start to look like the cover of Doom.

I can't even imagine how much shit you'd have to bring in to get $700 from Gamestop.

$300-ish was from Gamestop, but yeah...it was a lot of shit.  Mostly games bought on the cheap so not too bad.  I opted for cash, too- credit would have been a lot higher.

I did fuck up and sell them one game that I should have kept for if no other reason than to sell it myself elsewhere- I have the LE version of it and didn't realize that the LE complete actually goes for a fair amount.  I didn't give them the LE box so I may go buy the game back, so I can turn around and see if it sells for $100+ online, lol.
