Also, I'm extremely nervous still, but made the biggest career change of my life today. 😬 Well, I've been "making" the decision over the last week (lining things up, discussing it with family/close friends, trying to calculate every future variation like goddamn Rehoboam) but today was, like, "it."
Probably not the best time to abandon coding and pursue screenwriting but fuck it, if not now when?
Been barely scraping by for the last year on contracts anyways and extracting payments from one of my clients was so excruciating I think it killed contract-coding entirely for me. And losing my 9-5 in 2018 killed that for me too.
That said, I know screenwriters are still the bitches of the industry and I'm starting on the bottom. But I know I can write, I know I can give notes, and I know I can produce short films. And I know that's a start.
Maybe in a year I'll be sucking dick in LA for crack but at least I'll have some scripts I can show for it.
