Replaced my clutch cable with no issues.  Every time I learn something new I tend to fuck something up in the learning process making it much harder than it has to be.  Everything went way smoother than I expected considering I got all up in the guts of the transmission.

We split up our organization into 3 different teams - core development, forms development (for regulatory changes on special ed forms and the development supporting the tools to build out the forms), and customer support. And my manager said I'm the lead developer for the forms team and one of 2 scrummasters (there's 8 people on the team, with 2 more outsourced people coming). Hopefully this means a raise and an official promotion when reviews come next March! When my manager was revealing the team plans he also tooted my horn a bit saying how knowledgeable I was at the code base for the forms engine :P

Congrats! Did you ask about a raise and promotion when he told you? IMO that would have been the time to ask.

So there's a private shooting range not far from my house.  The first year is $300 and after that it's $190 per year (incredibly cheap for a private range with as many amenities as this one has).  Even with the extra cost for my first year it will probably pay for itself in less than 6 months compared to public range fees, not to mention it gives me access to lots of other activities.

Well every year there's a scramble for the few open spots (less than 100 this year) because it's so cheap and is considered one of the best ranges in the country.  Monday was originally supposed to be the new member registration.  It went live at 8 pm but the site started spazzing out by 7:55.  At 9:30 or so they finally said that the site wasn't coming back up that night and it was rescheduled for Tuesday night at 8pm.

About half of the slots were already gone from those were able to register Monday night so I figured my chances were slim.  I kept F5'ing last night and finally got into the register page, got my information in and submitted only to get an error 500 page.  I kept pressing back and then submit over and over again until it finally went through.  BOOYAH!

I used my wife's Facebook to look at the range's page and I finally realized why I had a chance.  Most of these people would start the process all over again when they got a timeout error.  They'd fill out the form over and over again when they got an error.  My God.  And they're all complaining "I didn't know you had to have an IT degree to register on the website!  What a waste of time" while I'm all  :neogaf  :sabu :umad :pacspit :win

I went to see Weird Al for the second time last night. Saw him in 2000 last time. I don't know how he stays so energetic and positive but the concert was phenomenal. My brother bought VIP tickets and got to do a meet and greet.

If you ever get a chance to go, do it. He's not going to be able to do this forever.

I've had a handgun I've been trying to casually sell or trade for awhile now because I never shoot it. But all the offers I have received were low ball and not worth it to me. Well someone offered a trade plus cash today. So now I have a new rifle and some cash in my pocket to go towards ammo or a new shotgun or something else. Score! Gonna celebrate by buying tacos.

Also, my mother in law is now legal. She's happy as fuck which makes me happy as fuck!

All in all a pretty great day.

Congrats man!

You'll appreciate this Mupepe.
When I got sworn in as a citizen I sat next to a sweet mexican grandma. Now, as you know there are differences between the dialects spoken in each country. Anyways I was doing my utmost best as a model citizen helping out the abuelita with her forms, translating for her and all that. She was very appreciative. Until they got to after the swearing in part. After that we all have to get in lines to get our citizenship certificates. After seeing how the long the line was I said in spanish, "Oh man. Look that massive line!" And made the minor but critical mistake of instead of using the Mexican word of "fila" for line I used the Venezuelan word for line, "Cola". Poor grandam was like :brazilcry

My wife got her citizenship in December. I'm not usually the patriotic type but it was really cool watching so many people get excited about what most of us take for granted. I can't wait until I get to see my MIL do the same in 5 years.

finished giving the presentation for the biggest deal of my career.
But that's not the triumph. The triumph is that after the hundreds of pages of responses and designs and documentation and having the 4 most senior people in the company locked in a room for 12 hours at a time and all the conflicting egos and personalities it's finally over and done. I honestly think the 4 of us want to win it, but more so at this point we just want it finished and done. It'd be disappointing to not win, but still a relief that it's done.

how many hot dogs do you put in your turkey soup?  I usually cut up 16-24 (2 - 3 packs) but that's for a really big pot.

In some of my darker days I've thrown a few wieners into  ramen noodles for the additional protein. Sometimes it doesn't have to taste good. :yeshrug

Yeah, I put some sausages into mac 'n cheese for my kids, and they just about lost their minds. I said, "Welcome to American cuisine, kids!" because that about what we've got going for us: wieners in boxed pasta.

An Asus VS239H-P 23" inch. Has to be IPS. I learned that lesson without thinking. I had a non-IPS, I sat down and the screen disappeared!

The picture features a non-IPS screen so you can see it's a little white towards the edges. The Asus does NOT do this.

Going to visit all you US borean fucks(well, the ones who go outside and don't spend too much time in the GAF thread) and buy y'all drinks for dealing with my bullshit in these threads about this very subject.

You could actually do this and it would be a lot of fun.

Ohio first to help out the fam, and then go see different universities for Masters and check out a few places of employment.

In the meantime I'll be visiting Bozeman, LA, New York, and New Orleans. Might check out Michigan to see the Lions disappoint in person.

Nice, look me up when you are in NY...
