So there's a private shooting range not far from my house. The first year is $300 and after that it's $190 per year (incredibly cheap for a private range with as many amenities as this one has). Even with the extra cost for my first year it will probably pay for itself in less than 6 months compared to public range fees, not to mention it gives me access to lots of other activities.
Well every year there's a scramble for the few open spots (less than 100 this year) because it's so cheap and is considered one of the best ranges in the country. Monday was originally supposed to be the new member registration. It went live at 8 pm but the site started spazzing out by 7:55. At 9:30 or so they finally said that the site wasn't coming back up that night and it was rescheduled for Tuesday night at 8pm.
About half of the slots were already gone from those were able to register Monday night so I figured my chances were slim. I kept F5'ing last night and finally got into the register page, got my information in and submitted only to get an error 500 page. I kept pressing back and then submit over and over again until it finally went through. BOOYAH!
I used my wife's Facebook to look at the range's page and I finally realized why I had a chance. Most of these people would start the process all over again when they got a timeout error. They'd fill out the form over and over again when they got an error. My God. And they're all complaining "I didn't know you had to have an IT degree to register on the website! What a waste of time" while I'm all
