Recently I was diagnosed with fatty liver and had a biopsy (aka get stabbed in the liver) done a few weeks ago. This all started a couple of months ago when I started feeling extremely tired/fatigued during the day and would have trouble staying awake. Weekends were usually spent sleeping for entirely too long throughout the day. I went to a sleep specialist and was told I had sleep apnea and needed a CPAP mask. After I saw the liver doctor and he did the biopsy, he told me to change my diet and cut out carbs and sugar whenever possible.
I've been on that diet for a few weeks now and have lost 10-12 pounds already. But the best part of this is that the week I was supposed to get fitted for a mask, I got more energy. It was literally like someone flipped a switch and a surge of energy came back into my body. There are some days where I might feel a bit tired and take a short nap sometimes, but there's already been a noticeable improvement. Enough so that they held off on the mask.

I'm going to go back for another sleep study sometime next month, just to be sure, but I'm pretty confident I'll be fine and still won't need to go the CPAP route. My biopsy result was also positive, given the circumstances, in that my liver isn't getting all scarred and they told me that if I keep doing what I'm doing and losing more and more weight, I'll be cured. Good news.
