If you are playing with a co-ordinated team this is one of the most fun games in years.

If you are playing with randoms its the most frustrating game in years.

I know that could describe a lot of shooters but its really really the rule here.

Eh, solo or a team it really depends on team makeup. If folks aren't switching or if the other side gets a really good makeup, no matter if you're playing with friends: You'll get pissed really fast.

Roadhog is a goddamn monster. I love playing as him so much. Sniping people off of high perches with the chain feels fantastic.

He already does a ton of damage but with a Mercy+Damage boost  :lawd His ult can kill a whole team

We did an escort mission with a random team and we all got Soldier 76.

Opposing team didnt have a chance.

That german healer girl is my fav so far. Too bad people don't seem to vote for the healer much.

Yeah ppl keep talking abt it almost like a moba but I always stress that you should learn to play at least 2 characters from each class type. Good news is the cast is do diverse playstyle wise odds are you'll click with at least one from each class.

Yeah I'm trying to get good with one or two of each type but it's difficult to find an offense character I like. So far it's Roadhog/Zarya, Lucio, Mei/Widowmaker, and on Offense I'm just using Soldier cause he's dead easy.

I like:

Mei (primary) (BBW ice goddess)
McCree (Last Word lives on)
Reaper (not a high priority since he requires being up close)

Need to play some more support / tanky classes. Everyone just tries to kill, and then get stomped because they have no support or defense.

Lucio is an easy support to start with. He basically just supports the team by being near them and alive. You can just use his E on cooldown and you can just harass with your gun and use your ult during a push/defense. He's also the first person you want to target when he's on the other team because he makes a team much better just by being alive.

For tanks Winston is very easy but his gun is a little weird to get used to using well. Rein is the most straightforward, right-click and put up shield. Then you also have the crazy charge and hadoken for being a dick to the other team.

Played the xbone version a bit. Being a hit and run annoyance with Tracer is fun when flanking and trying to pull people in front of a tank and it's fun when you get a good team rolling. But it feels like the game isn't rewarding enough for team play and encourages lone wolfing/Kill-Streaks at the minute with how the rewards are doled out and the Play of the Game just being whoever picked off a bunch of people with an Ult. Which goes against the design of the game as it's normally great. If you aren't covering all classes, you are going to lose badly. If you are playing randoms but you still have team synergy and know your role. You will win or have a close match.

Also fuck everyone on xbone picking 76. You always win against them because they tend to never have any squad depth but 76's ult being no start up, instant deploy and instant kill is fucking annoying when you have about four players yelling "GOT YOU IN MY SIGHTS" across the map and they get no effort kills. At least with Widowmaker, Bastion and McRee's ults they have start ups, lock you in position and forces good map positioning so you don't get killed while performing it instead of "Press Y to kill every motherfucker at the control point".

Here is the thing with building meter in this game, you need to always be shooting unless you're a character like Mercy or Symmetra. Reinhardt has his shield up pushing with his buddies? Shoot the shield. This game has infinite ammo and any kind of pressure/harass you can do even if it's pitiful dmg is still worth it because it helps build ult.

Lucio's weapon is also more powerful than most ppl think, him and Zenyatta are probably best in support when it comes to dealing damage. It's burst fire projectile nature tho means it's best suited for big slow dudes like the tanks. I have killed many Roadhogs as Lucio.

I'm enjoying Pharah, Lucio the most at the moment.

I like that Lucio is a passive healer who can still mix it up a little.

And Pharah is real fun to get up high with and rain down rockets.

It's kinda hard to tell when your heals are actually healing. Medic's medigun in TF2 had a nice sound and feedback to let you know you were healing. I played some Zenyatta and could barely tell whether I was healing or not.
That used to be a big issue with Lucio but they added the little number in the middle of the screen to show how many people are in your AOE.

Just got 12 Kill Streak with Tolbjorn on the Numbai city map putting the turret above the Cap point. Mei player on the other team thought they were being smart trying to wall it out the big open section on the road, but it made them flank into another exit point from the building where the turret completely aced them. They just kept feeding and I just used my ult to knock em down.

Play of The Game :smug

They have major balance problems, though. No wonder Ranked matches are post launch. TTK is fine at the start of the match till ults start popping out so Blizz needs to get on that ASAP.

I'm really enjoying this a lot more than I should be. Kind of feel bad for Stillborn since it is kind of cool too, but just doesn't have the level of polish that Overwatch has.

Anyone having issues with audio during combat? I feel sometimes that I can't hear that I'm being attacked, it's like the spacial audio isn't working properly.

Genji is the counter to bastion. He can reflect his bullets and kill him or dash behind him and kill him. So when you play better people you see that happen. But newcomers struggle with Genji as he is a harder character to play.

Soldier 76 isn't a bad counter either in the sense that if you can catch the drop on one peak out a corner you can dmg him down quick with a couple bursts and your tri-rockets
